It actually might make more sense why Nintendo didn't allow them talking about the actual games in the extras for Captain N. Reason being is that some of the games involved were ones from 3rd parties and Nintendo might not want to promote those particular companies anymore and it also might be a legal thing where they can't officially mention those games or companies. Doesn't make sense for the Mario shows since Nintendo own the characters and everything else.

Also missing from the SMW DVDs are, although unnecessary, the cut down Captain N episodes that NBC used to pad out the rest of the weeks. Quest For the Potion Of Power from Season 2 was split up over two weeks as well. One of the problems I have with Season 2 of Captain N is the abrupt endings on a lot of the episodes. I do agree that Super Mario 3 is consistently superior to SMBSS, even with the music problems. It's cool that SMW had original villains once in awhile. The only other time that happened was Love 'Em And Leave 'Em from SS and, although part of a flashback, Plumbers' Academy. When Mother Brain Rules (the clip show) never aired on NBC that I know of either. There were two versions: one with Simon narrating, some without. Given Simon's personality, think of that what you will. 🤣 But at least the episode ends with Simon accepting Kevin.

Super Mario World was the final Nintendo property to have a cartoon until Donkey Kong Country, Pokémon & Kirby.

Also loved kid video unfortunately with all the music used we’ll probably never get a release, physical or streaming because of music rights (one of only 2 fan sets I own just to relive my childhood)

Like with The SMBSS 'I have both Shout Factory volumes of it and the LOZ dvds with live-action segments and what I don't hav thankfully YT has' I watch this video when watching my dvds of SMB3 & SMW. I have the same SMB3 dvd set I have two NCircle/Cookie Jar dvds of SMW so all but one episode of SMW but YT has the episode that ain't on the dvds. I don't care Capatin N show and if that show was a reason SMB3/SMW shows shorter I don't like that although I think one of the episodes is about Tetris I like that Nintendo Switch has more than version of that game and it has other NES/SNES/Gameboy systems/N64 games I like that lots of us likes Blue Television Games 'YT channel' live-streams of games he streams Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings his Sundays streams is Super Mario Maker 2 and his Tuesdays streams is usually lots of classic games from lots of classic video games systems picked by lots of people in the chat.

One thing I noticed, is that the N Circle version of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3", is just a straight forward reprint of the Shout Factory version. The only difference is a new set of opening previews.

This is a silly question but does your Super Mario World set have dual or single layer discs? I bought the Shout set you're showcasing in this video but the discs are single layer. I'm curious if all copies are like that or if I bought a bootleg.

Definitely dual layer. Shout rarely uses single layer, and never for TV shows sets like this.

Additionally TubiTV plus YT's Wildbrain Cartoon Super Heroes has all the Mario content for free and it's legal. Wildbrain also has the Captain N episodes too.

I think the main issue with season 3 is that it was never officially syndicated as far as I know. I don’t remember it being shown on the family channel and I didn’t watch the game masters that much so I didn’t know if it was on that block or not
