Thank you so much for that interview. I finally had my question answered about how the V-22 operates in helicopter mode... it has a swash plate like a traditional helo.

I have a difficult time deciding what branch to join. I honestly would join all of them tbh if I could. I want to be a pilot so people have told me to join the Air Force or the Navy although the Marines are cool as well it's just they said if I go in the Marines they said I might not get the chance to become a pilot.

This is two decades ago, but I used to know a guy in college who joined the Navy with a student pilot license and they obviously sent him straight to the aviation branch. Apparently it's possible to get a student pilot license at 16 and a private pilot license at 17.

@@andrewsuryali8540 not just anyone gets into navy pilot training and many are washed out as they have to be able to land on a moving deck not a simple task so you have to be top notch to qualify. but if you dont make their standards you can go Air force.

@@joescheller6680 Not really. That friend of mine never landed on a ship in 18 years of Naval Aviation service. He ended up flying the Navy's P3s and later one of the Gulfstreams ferrying admirals around. The closest he ever got to carrier landing was getting in a C2 cockpit as copilot, but they moved him over to P3s before he had a chance to fully qualify on the C2

Will MV-22 OSPREY replace the UH-60 helicopters?

Nope. That aircraft will be selected via the Future Vertical Lift (FVL) program. CMV-22 will replarce the C-2 Greyhounds on board the Carriers though
