@@Senate300 From his point of view, Dan is a failure because he doesn't offer the society something tangible. In a sense, he doesn't believe in art, even belittles it. Whereas Larry is a doctor. His profession -- unlike Dan's - requires a proper education and experience in order to succeed. Therefore he thinks he is superior to Dan.
