Even when using the liners sometimes the poop can go over the sides but they help a lot with getting most of the poop off. I love my sprayer, being able to spray the poop straight into the toilet and not having to do the dunk and swish method is amazing. Get yourself a spray shield or actually make one. I did that with a dollar store trash can lol I just cut out the bottom and hold the diaper on the inside and put the trash can in the hole if the seat and spray no water or poop spraying everywhere and a nice rinsed off diaper.

I know this was 1y ago... but instead of placing two microfibre inserts in Nora's Nursery pockets (or two bamboo) try 1 bamboo and 1 hemp/cotton blend. They're miraculous. Geffen baby boosters are my faves.

Esembly had a 20% off site wide sale for Black Friday and I bought allllll the inners and outers we will need from birth to potty training! 🙌🏼 Along with a bunch of their overnight pads and reusable wipes. 🥰 So excited to use them when he gets here!

The idea of the sprayer bothered me so bad so I never used one. I was only able to breastfeed for 5 months so I started using the bamboo sheets (they’re like dryer sheets). I was gifted a diaper genie so I would just toss the bamboo liners and wipes in the trash. We used that system until my daughter potty trained. 👍🏻 It was fantastic. I’ll use the liners again for second baby. Best of luck!

Thanks for sharing your tip on the bamboo liners! Definitely going to consider incorporating those into out routine once solids are introduced.

If you don't have the diaper sprayer and want to try and see if it is worth the purchase, try using your flexible shower head in the bath tub (the water goes in the same place as the toilet contents) and just wash well the tub afterwards. Many moms do that.

Reusable wipes are far better than disposables. Ever since I made the switch I feel grossed when I need to use a disposable wipe. I washed some of the disposable wipes in the washer and used them as diaper liners for poop. Edited to add: I don't pre-wet the wipes. Just keep a peri bottle with water only, and wet 1 or two wipes every time before changing the diaper. I also use them to wipe the baby's body sparingly every night before bed in between showers. Or wipe boogers. They're just so awesome. I have 1 pack from GroVia and also made my own from a flannel flat sheet that I never used.

Thank you for posting this video, all of your information saved me as my husband and I plan out potentially using cloth diapers. I wanted to lower our carbon footprint in some way by using cloth, but it was somewhat difficult to make a decision when narrowing down to these two options.

Thank you!! These are the 2 brands I'm going to start with when little boy comes! It's nice to get a review from a newer point of view! I think at a certain point some of these videos are made by people who have too much experience haha they just bring up a bunch of things that aren't necessarily important to start out, or their detailed preference now that they've cloth diapered 3 kids.

We are due in May with our first, and we are planning on using a mix of Esembly diapers and Nora’s Nursery. We registered for some all in ones as well to decide what we like best. But I think I’ll end up using Esembly and Nora’s Nursery the most!!

Thank you so much for this video! I was specifically searching for a review of both Esembly and Nora's so this was super helpful. Your daughter is adorable! One question: Which portable washer did you purchase? We are considering getting one just for the diapers, to use less water/energy and so that diapers aren't tying up our regular laundry or vice-versa.

Have you ever tried using esembly's inner with nora's outer? I was contemplating buying their inners with nora's outers due to how much cute nora's are :)
@xoxoxlittlej

I've never tried that before. I just lined them up and the Esembly could fit inside he Nora's. But there is a 2 in gap at the front and back. So I'm a little worried about leaking. But I might have to test it out!

"But is it worth it because the diapers are cute? Yeah!" 😅 I'm looking forward to trying Esembly diapers with my baby expected very soon. Do you remember how old your baby was when they started fitting? I'm guessing they won't fit right away from birth. Thanks. 💜 Heidi

We used disposables for the 1st month because we were gifted them. We started using the Esembly diapers once she was 1 month. But I would say they fit her best once she was 2 months old. Shes almost 6 months old now and has completely grown out of the size 1's. Now we are just using the Nora's Nursery. Mainly because I don't want to spend more money on diapers and we have more than enough. But I still like the quality of Esembly more than Nora's. Congrats on your baby!

@@xoxoxlittlej thanks for the video! I’m considering making the switch to essembly. My baby is 3 months old and 11 lbs (she was a tiny peanut at birth) so I’m curious at 6 months old was your baby actually 17 lbs or did she outgrow them before the 17 lb mark?
@xoxoxlittlej
@xoxoxlittlej 3 жыл бұрын
@@justinecreegan8760 at 6 months she was 15 lbs and 15 oz. But we had already stopped using the esembly diapers because they were getting tight and leaving marks on her leg. She didn't seem bothered by it, we just didn't like seeing it 😕 if I didn't buy all of the Nora's nursery diapers and had bought size 2's of he esembly we probably would have switched to the size 2's at that point. I still like the quality of esembly diapers a lot more than Nora's. But Nora's is so much more affordable and I didn't want to spend more money if I already had diapers that would still get the job done.

I am new to cloth diapering and recently purchased Esembly. Is it normal that the inners are super soaked? I also noticed that causes my newborn to have a lot of imprints and marking on his skin. Is that typical for cloth diapers
@xoxoxlittlej
@xoxoxlittlej Жыл бұрын
Yes it's normal for the inners to be soaked. The outers should stay dry as long as the inners are tucked inside correctly. If you are experiencing wetness on the outers you may want to add an extra insert or change the diaper more frequently. I noticed that when I introduced water to my daughter she peed a lot more and I had to change her more often. Also as you use the cloth diapers they absorb a lot more. I always hang dry the inners and Esembly reccomends drying the outers in the Dryer ever once in a while to maintain the moisture wicking property. And yes the imprints are also normal. I notice them on the Noras Nursery diapers too. You can always try loosening the diaper by one snap-just to see if it still keeps the pee/poop in while giving extra room. I used to worry about it but my daughter never seemed uncomfortable. The elastic is meant to be adjustable and form fitting. Hope this helps!

I'm only using Nora's. She grey out of the Esembly diapers, I only had size 1. It's going really well and we haven't had any problems. I've only ever used cloth diapers so I'm not sure how it compares to disposables. I think it was a good investment 👌

Do you feel like this has saved you money overall? Like compared to buying disposable diapers?
@xoxoxlittlej
@xoxoxlittlej 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Quick Math: I have spent a total of $392 on reusable diapers. My baby averages out at 8 diapers a day. That's about 1680 diapers since she's been born. A 164 CT of pampers is $39.99 at Target. We would have bought 10 packs of a 164 CT for 1680 diaper changes. Which comes out to $400. So at 7 months I've just broke even on my reusable diapers. And we still have a long way to go before she is potty trained 😅 of course there are more affordable reusable diapers that could have saved me even more money. And I was gifted some diapers too.
