Cloud chances forecast for the total solar eclipse in Indiana | April 4, 2024

The are a couple storm systems trying to cross the U.S. during the total solar eclipse. Will Indiana be able to get breaks in the clouds to see totality?

Keep these cloud forecasts coming! This is the best Indiana information out there. I've read that the cold that totality brings dries out the air and eats up the clouds. Could you check that out? If so, is it more likely to disperse the high clouds, or the low ones? Thanks!

I'm heading for Conway Arkansas. I just saw an hourly forecast on TV that includes the southern USA. It looks like the cloud cover will be pretty acceptable that afternoon from Conway to at least Carbondale, Illinois. Indiana was just off the map. I'm mainly looking at the CENTER of totality, because if you really care you'll try to get to the center. That's where it lasts the longest. South back toward Texas, the cloud cover looks more iffy. Not very promising. It looks like Conway is the start of the better weather. And again these are early models but I'll take what I can get. Good luck to everyone trying to get the big experience.

And the big storms down south shouldn't hit until several hours after the eclipse. If you're planning a road trip to see it, you should have time to get out before the storms. Or at least get a far distance before things get bad.

They are spraying like mad today, the sky will be the usual hazy chem soup by 3pm! I figured between that and our usual bad luck with weather it would be a wash out!
