Maybe a proper HD Remaster with voice acting. But a full on remake that uses modern graphics, fully re-made in unreal engine, and follows the combat system of FF7R? Too impossible. FF8 doesn't have that much popularity compared to FF7

Whatever comes next for final fantasy won’t be until this, XVI’s dlc and dawn trail come out. Hopefully we get news about that IX remake/remaster thing that was rumored

I agree, I've said from the start that keys mapped to buttons would be closer to a real keyboard. Maybe they thought this is the best way for some reason. If they could integrate pedaling the sticks could be used as pedals.
