Thomas, that's awesome! We appreciate your feedback on our product! You're a saint, a scholar, and everything in between! Thank you so much!

I've been using CloudBerry for several years. I've used it with local storage, Amazon and Backblaze. The only issue I've ever had was when I screwed something up and had plans running under two users. One of them didn't have the upload cap set and would saturate the network and make my internet connection unusable. The support was pretty good in helping to sort that out.

This is a great video Tom. Very helpful. I've been moving from Windows to Ubuntu and one of the problems I'm having is image backups. Acronis works great on Windows image backups but not consistently on Ubuntu. So, this looks like a great replacement that I can use on Windows or Linux. I love the idea of keeping my backups under my control and/or located at the remote location I choose (rather than Amazon or Google or CloudsRUs) and bare metal restores are very important to me. So, I will be looking at this. Thanks again!

I do like cloudberry - was using it all the way back in 2011 - come on a lot since then with so many storage options it is a great solution.

Yet another stellar video, Thank you Tom! I have been wanting to virtualize my current Win10Pro desktop on my XenServer so I can move over to Linux full time on my desktop (already have on one laptop). I've actually though about simply building a new system and keeping my current one as-is while I migrate away but it's only a few years old and still in great shape (plus, I'd rather spend the $ on more server hardware lol). So, the timing of this video is perfect. My only reservation is dropping $120 and finding out something isn't cooperating properly with the new VM, and then requiring an additional purchase for the Linux version since I won't be using Windows daily anymore. Sounds like a perfect solution, I just need to properly weigh out the pricing. Thanks again for another great video!

I have been using Ahsay for backup last 10 years for all of our clients. It has been Flawless never had an issue restoring. We have it back up to Azure Blob LRS for $0.02 per gigabyte. Let me know if you ever want to do a demo with them I can definitely help you out if you have any questions.

Are you still using Ahsay? What is the pricing? Thanks

I know this is old but is it recommended to create an ISO for the BMR for every client or can you use one ISO to BMR multiple clients? Granted in this scenario it's back to the same hardware.

This is awesome! Very cool software. May try it in my environment. Still looking around at solutions for backing up individual client workstations. Any thoughts?

If you are looking for free there is always clonezilla.org/

Sweet! Doesn't necessarily have to be free but I'll definitely check that out! Any suggestions for the paid route? I've used Backblaze in the past to back up to their servers but I'm looking at other options too, local or cloud based.

Hey Thomas, I'm running into the same problem you had at 25:22 with "permission denied" but can't seem to get it working. What did you change to get your setup up and running? Thanks
@LAWRENCESYSTEMS7 жыл бұрын
I had not given the backup permission to the write destination.

Thanks for your reply! I'll try that now.

Tom, I need to find a good (read "reliable") backup solution for several windows servers. Would you still recommend Cloudberry today?

I've been reading the Cloudberry site and it appears they have Storage Limits (Data volume you can manage with CloudBerry Backup). Of which the Pro desktop version has a 5TB limit. I have 10TB of data I'd like backed up so their stated limits are concerning. Have you tried larger sets of backups using Cloudberry?
@LAWRENCESYSTEMS7 жыл бұрын
They have their ultimate version that allows more storage. "Q: What does 1TB storage limit mean?" www.cloudberrylab.com/backup-faq.aspx

$300 for a single seat is kind of rough. Still if nothing else I'm going to try the free versions as a replacement for crashplan to at least backup my PCs to my Freenas box. Thanks sir.

At least on there site there is a link to request an increase, not sure how likely you see to get it but with a shot.

We are in the process of redesigning our license policy. We will update the limit for freeware solution (the count will be in terabytes) and remove the limit from Desktop Pro versions completely. The ETA, however, is not yet known
@ProphetBeal7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. Would that also include the Linux versions?

Can you make a review of UrBackup Open Source as a cool alternative
@LAWRENCESYSTEMS7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have that bookmarked as I want to try it out. It looks really awesome!
@DavidAshwell7 жыл бұрын
urbackup looks to be a very compelling replacement for CrashPlan users (www.urbackup.org/) - We're deploying it to a small set of users now and its been solid so far (~6 months of use). You can do system backup to .vhd's as well.
@ronc62386 жыл бұрын
Great video Tom! Maybe you can answer this because Cloudberry support doesn’t seem to understand what I’m asking. If I have a SFTP server that I want to use as my destination, does that count against the storage limit? If the server is on the LAN, does that count against the storage limit?
@LAWRENCESYSTEMS6 жыл бұрын
I think the storage limits were per provider, so it should not.

I loved cloudberry until they killed their qnap backup.
@isaacgood8207 жыл бұрын
You can backup to the cloud with QNAP's own software, CB isn't needed. www.qnap.com/solution/hybrid-backup-sync/en/
