Having watched Another Story made me realise something... The person Faust is talking to in his song is... himself. This man built like a granddaddy long leg, what the hell- Faust was a great doctor, all he wanted to do was help anyone and everyone in need. One day, however, while working on a little girl, she died. Thinking this was his fault, he snapped and went on a murder spree. After calming down, he had gained some mental trauma and, actually, was able to tuck it all away in some of the later games to become the goofy and fun doctor we see in Xrd and Rev. But, he finds out that Zato-1 was responsible for the kid’s death and all of his trauma came flooding back. And, in Strive, we see him struggle with his mental state and these different personalities trying to take control. In his theme, this really reflects his problems and his want for being the funny and goofy doctor once again. Faust is such a great character and his theme is such an amazing story teller. Certified bop.

Man I can't put into word how much I LOVE Faust. I already love his XX/Xrd character but dammit, Strive Faust just touches me to a fucking personal level. A broken doctor who gave it all to save a little girl and get his redemption, now roams the land to help as many people as he can. Scary, yet tries to be comforting, while he seems to rediscover what it is to be amazed by simple things like flowers. Square one yes, Faust had his guilt away and now, he's just one loving doctor who sees the world as anew. I know he looks scary like "Haha Silent Hill Faust" but guys, Silent Hill is also known for its character development. Strive Faust got the design and the dev. Man I love him so much and each time I hear his theme song, I love him more. GG has plenty of great characters but none of them is able to make me feel what Faust makes me feel. My grandfather was a doctor, very kind and liked by all of his patients. He got hospitalized during 9 monthes of suffering before passing away. It got very hard for him to talk and since he couldn't move at all, he became very skinny... Faust kind of reminds me of him... It's like someone, somewhere, saw my grandfather, and created a character to pay hommage to him. I know it's not the case but it sure as hell feels like it... Thank you Faust, for just... existing. EDIT 02/16/2023: Hi! Coming back to this comment to thank you all for your support! Don't worry too much, it's been years now and we only have fonds memory of my grandfather. I've always interpreted the chorus as Faust asking the player, or whoever he's fighting, what hope they see in the world. In my head I picture Faust has completely given up on everything to the point of just losing himself even more-so than past games, no longer seeing any hope for humanity due to the cruelty they'd bring down to even a young girl. "We've got only one sky" I see as "Everyone lives in the same cruel world, full of atrocities, pain, grieving, and death to those who might not even deserve it" and "What is it like to you? The Faust we play as is basically a corpse animated by magic and moving using the barest traces of Faust's will. At no point did his heart actually stop beating, but he's basically a zombie.

i have a theory for what this song means, I think it shows how disjointed and broken his head is (obviously) and the blue red and black represents his inner emotions and thoughts. the biggest part (blue) is his need to help people, and his want to save them all, the black is his grief, the next biggest part, that encompasses him. red a very small part, but it's his rage, and his want for harm. but it's all him, he's the one sky, but only he can see himself. and it's him rationing that because only he knows himself, only he can fix himself.

I'm loved how the singer screams "Messiah", before saying "Will not come", like Faust is begging for God to help him before immediately telling himself that no, no one will help him. the fact the song is from the mad doctor's perspective makes it all the more interesting.

So this line seems to be a reference to the original Guilty Gear, back when was Dr. Baldhead (a rampaging serial killer). In his arcade mode ending, he defeats the big bad of the game and people call him the Messiah. To me at least, the line seems to be saying Faust realizes that he can't save anyone in his current state.
