Clouds lit by Gunfire - Peter Satera | Abbey Road One Demo

A screenflow of my Demo 'Clouds lit by Gunfire', composed ONLY with
Abbey Road One: Orchestral Foundations.
I always enjoy creating a track with new libraries. I find it's a good way to get used to it, and with this being a Spitfire Audio library, I thought it only be fitting it receives a Spitfire Audio presentation, just for fun.
Track was composed within FL Studio.

Erm… is it just me or is this by far THE best piece of music ever done with this library? Incredibly well done, and the video is absolutely gorgeous. In fact… not only did it instantly put AROOF back in dangerously GASsy territories, for a moment there I even think I wanted FL as my new DAW ;-)

Thank you Temme! Aroof is great, it does desperately cry out for individual instruments and legato. FL studio is great, but, has some significant limitations for composers. I have Cubase, I've just yet to sit and learn it. 😂

Just Adobe Premiere. You can use the camera's in it to give the visuals some twist. then with some slight subtle panning. :)

so I've allways been a person who likes rough sounding brass and harsh loud brass rips and spitfire audio has lacked that in my two librarys I currently own. bbcso and Albion 1 is it another library u used for brass or is that marcato notes in the brass I here. in other words how you get yo brass to sound so rough and gritty lol. and should I buy abbey road to complete my collection. ALSO WHAT A GREAT PIECE LOL. WANNA GET PAID FOR CUSTOM WORK LOL?

Hi Ryo! Who doesn't enjoy getting paid for custom work! ;) I get exactly what you mean by that brassy sound, the sound of the bells on the brass instruments vibrating. Absolutely everything you hear on this track is Abbey Road One: Orchestral Foundations. To get that sound though in this library, it's a combination of stacked low brass in octaves, with the french horns sizzle EQ'ed to be more forefront. Trumpets can be used, but sparingly in volume, as it can sound fanfare'ish if they are too prominent. JXL Brass, and Cinebrass will do this very well but with the right EQ you can get that 'sizzle' sound from many brass libraries. Excellent ! how do you deal with the absence of legato patches ?

It made me think of composition in a different way, it's more sparse, rather than soaring. At the times where I do want to feel the connection between two notes, there's a slight overlap, such as 0:12 in. :) The legato in the likes of Low Legendary, etc are great. Not that they are in this, but if Spitfire take the Appassionata approach, we're in for some awesome sample libraries in the future from Abbey Road.
