I believe that wasn’t the thing the hurt him. And anxiety or not his mom died and he needed him there.... if everyone els was there I can def see that being a jab. Tbh he just comes off as petty and ungrateful to me, which is a shame bc I loved him in the band! I was a fan from day one. Still love his music. And I can understand staying away from crowded places, but there was 100% way to go around that and hang back stage so nobody would see him to support his friend. Zayn doesn't go to big crowded events like that so idk why Louis thought Zayn would come. At that time Zayn was going through his own issues too and was in the U.S. The U.K media is racist af towards Zayn and always bashing him and at that time none of the 1d guys were on speaking terms with Zayn and he is supposed to drop everything he's doing to support Louis in person? He publicly supported on twitter sending his condolences and also called Louis. Louis later said one of his mom's last wishes was for him to make up with Zayn and he said they talked on the phone and were okay. Then after Good Years by Zayn came out, he got pissed and took that song as a diss song at 1d and got mad at Zayn again when that song is supposed to be about Zayn's personal struggles with himself when he was in 1d and his anxiety. Plus Zayn said when he left 1d, it was the darkest time of his life and he felt alone and depressed and all the 1d fandom was constantly attacking him and none of his ex members were talking to him even though he TRIED numerous times to get in contact to talk things out. They ignored him. Zayn needed someone and Louis was ignoring him but at least Zayn still contacted Louis and talked to him after his mom passed. He didn't ignore him or act like a dick and not say something to him. So it's annoying that Louis thinks that isn't enough and wanted more because Zayn was going through stuff too and he had to go through it alone while Louis had 3 of his members in person to lean on. Zayn was in a dark place and had no one and I'm glad he was strong enough to get through it and grateful he met Gigi and helped him through it.

They all have different stories of what happened so there’s no point in arguing or writing multiple long paragraphs about what happened especially since you nor any of us actually know what went down between them. No one should be blaming either one of them for what happened because we simply don’t know anything about the situation. But I also think you mentioning the other commenter and saying they’re being insensitive is a little hypocritical because you’re disregarding Louis’s very valid feelings after his mother died and trying to compare it to leaving a band? We all know Zayn has anxiety and no one’s disregarding that but you shouldn’t preach about respecting mental health while simultaneously disrespecting Louis’s.

Zayn literally has anxiety and hates big crowds and had to cancel one of his performances because of his anxiety. You can't invite someone to a big public place like that (x factor stage) and expect him to show up especially since he was in the U.S and had his own issues going on at the time. Zayn sent his condolences on twitter publicly and also called him too. Louis said Zayn called and talked to him after his mom passed away and that were okay now. Then after the x factor performance he was upset Zayn wasn't there. Maybe Louis didn't know Zayn avoids places like that, but you can't blame Zayn for his anxiety keeping him from going to places like that.
