Very unfortunate that AA will be retiring these in less than two weeks. Great that you were able to fly on one of their last MD-80s.👍

It is sad. But, we'll all get to fly on the final flight come September 4th. I am going to attempt to post that flight the same day!

Thanks my friend! I'm glad you enjoy the videos. I spend a lot of time when booking flights deciding which seat to pick. I factor in a lot of things to help ensure I have the best possible views. Some of the things I consider ahead of time are where the sun will be in the sky during the flight, which direction the winds typically blow during that time of year, what the aircrafts most likely route will be, and so on. Sometimes all your efforts are for nothing because aviation can be unpredictable, but more times than not it works out, and you get the awesome views like in this video! Thanks for watching my friend!

When the airplane is diving into clouds I always get "nervous" and fear that we might collide with another plane. I know it is irrational but ..... ;-)

Cool shot of the Antonov in the background and being loaded with oilfield equipment.

It is unfortunate. The good news is that I have a seat booked on the final flight, so everyone will get to ride along here on the channel.

Dang... I’m pretty sure a few of their MD-80s are only 20 years old! That’s a very young bird to kill.

AA still flies these into Wichita too. Not sure what they’ll be replaced with. A319 maybe.
@sla31
@sla31 5 жыл бұрын
The A319 would be my guess. That or the 738. Although, I've noticed AA likes to send the smaller birds to ICT.
@JustinLHopkins
@JustinLHopkins 5 жыл бұрын
Skylite Productions They used ICT for one of the A319 proving routes. We have some 4-5 daily MD80 flights with a mix of American Eagle to DFW daily. Where will 5 MD80’s worth of capacity go? I hope we get the 737 or airbus.
@sla31
@sla31 5 жыл бұрын
Justin Hopkins Personally, I would prefer the A319. I tend to like Airbus aircraft over the 737 anyways, and I don’t think Wichita has enough demand to need an A321.
@JustinLHopkins
@JustinLHopkins 5 жыл бұрын
Skylite Productions If we only had 2 flights, I can see AA crowding us into an A321, but frequency wins here. Dallas is the top destination for Wichita. I see AA using the A319/20 mostly with a sprinkle of 737’s on rare occasionsr. Delta flies all mainline from Atlanta several times a day and United uses a 739 on Wichita routes in conjunction with an A320 and a few regionals. It’s possible American will just move us to mainline A319’s period. We’ll have to wait an see. I just hope we’re not downgraded to all regional.
@JustinLHopkins
@JustinLHopkins 5 жыл бұрын
Skylite Productions Well, you’re in luck. Wichita has been transitioned over and we’re getting 3-4 A319 flights per day, along with a few American Eagle. I couldn’t be happier.

How in the hell do you not have more subscribers? The quality of your videos is far more superior to some of the aviation channels that have more than 1M subscribers.

That's a question I do not know the answer to my friend. I do the best I can to put out the best quality content possible. I don't clickbait, reply to every comment on the channel, put out 10 videos per week. Who knows, maybe the channel will "takeoff" soon. Pun intended. Thanks for watching my friend! I'm glad you enjoy the quality of my videos.
