Harry "Tyrant" Conklin, his vocal range, his voice color and also his stage presence and personality makes him to one of the most Attractive Vocalists of all time. World Class!!

I always felt that while America have Cirith Ungol, we in the UK have Cloven Hoof. Both bands have a similar style although one is more doomy while the other is more power metal. But both bands are totally on par with each other in the Swords/Sorcery/Fantasy theme.

Plenty of US bands with epic, fantasy lyrics. Manilla Road, Omen, Medieval Steel, Virgin Steele, Jag Panzer, Warlord, Crimson Glory, Liege Lord, early Fates Warning, to name a few. Manowar of course. As many later on like Steel Prophet, Cauldron Born, Onward, Crescent Shield, Pharaoh, Traveler, Silver Talon, Ancient Empire, Eternal Champion, Antioch, Sumerlands...

Lee Payne has kept the band active since 79, with an 11 year hiatus returning in 2001, and it was very wise of him to join power metal, as the albums released from 200X were so good. Now with the arrival of the notorious vocalist Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer, Satan's Host and Titan Force) for this new album it was a very good decision, because Harry is so cool, even at 62 years old he is doing a lot of excellent work. If I come to Brazil, I will certainly go to the show!!

This is incredible. NWOBHM is a correct description, but I can't help but hear the Halloween/Gamma Ray/Victory influence. Album of the year for sure.

Yeah, that's my problem with it. Too much happy - and sometimes a bit boring - powermetal melodies for my liking. I like their mean and sharp Dominator/Sultan's Ransom era. A buddy of mine coined this Us Power Metal and he's spot on, he digs it, I don't ( at least not the current versions of it ). They could have made a meaner record with the Tyrant which btw is an excellent choice. Will buy this one of course but it probably won't get played much...

I guess it's kind of easter eggs, so many riffs there from classic NWOBHM songs. Everyone can easily spot some Priest and Maiden stuff, but that nice little "Blietzkrieg" in track #2 was a killer :)
