The Ford Flathead will be around until the end of time. The old Chrysler, Desoto, Dodge and Plymouth flathead 6's are awesome in their own right also. I am currently building a Dodge 230 cuin flathead and managed to find an Offenhauser high compression finned aluminum head along with the twin carb intake and split exhaust, a Crane performance cam and I plan on running the Pertronix electronic ignition. I love the old iron.

Pretty tough engine to go from 5000 rpm loaded to decelerate at no load to 3500 rpms ... If you did that with a geared aircraft engine you’d blow it up shortly...!!!
