Making flintblades from a bladecore using indirect technique with boxwood billet and punch of mooseantler. Danish flint.
This technique were used in Europe during stoneage but also by the Clovis and Folsom culture, the blades can be used as knifes, hafted or not hafted and changed to many types of tools like scraper, drill, saw, burin, points etc. Efficienc technology of getting lots of cutting edge per kg flint.

Deeper platforms between ridges mimic a certain range of clovis blades which you’ve excellently demonstrated. I favor an approach to bifaces and cores that’s fluid, though your experience on straight punches represents a range that’s highly informative and impressive peter. Hope to knap with you some day.

Yes gunflint is made from these, also selling them to museums in europe, they have schoolkids that use them as knifes during their stoneage programs
