I’m a handyman myself I love fixing old stuff too. This day and age people just by new but why buy new if you can spend very little to fix what you have. Great video

I totally agree, it's so much more satisfying to fix something than just buying new!

❤You remind me of my Daddy working on clocks. Love the memories. I really like the white one you got at Hobby Lobby. I like rustic things. You did a great job on both clocks. Be good so Santa will be sure to stop by. 😊 🙏🏻❤️ ⏰

This was a really interesting video. I found a clock that had stopped working due to a battery that leaked and needed to be cleaned and the battery replaced If we find that doesn't fix the problem, we can try your solution now that I know what to do. Thank you for this great demonstration.

Thanks so much Calvin! I didn’t realize it was so easy to fix clocks like this. I’ll have to take a look at an old clock that I have to see if I can fix it. Thanks for showing the whole process too - like where it was stuck on by tape, because some of us might actually run into that and now we know what to do with it. (I think some KZbinrs might have edited that out.) It was like watching my Dad fix something to watch you! 👍🏻 Thank you very much! ❤️🌹

Honestly, I had an old clock that stopped working. It had sentimental meaning , so I put in storage rather then trash it. I'm so happy that I will be able to use it again. I never knew you could order what's called a movement separately. Thank you Calvin for this video it appreciated more then you'll ever know.

Thanks for this DIY video. I never considered changing the movements, and I know I have seen this particular clock design before somewhere. It is a beautiful clock. When you purchased it, I was interested in seeing whether that clock was going to operate properly, not that it stopped completely as I myself just got rid of a couple wall clocks because they were running slow by donating to a local charity that picks up. One clock was a contemporary design and the other was traditional. My habit is to have a clock in every room, and right now I am looking for a mantle clock with luminous hands. I also have one of those wood clocks from the 1970s that stopped on me which I do not want to part with. Thanks for the suggestion and demonstration. Now, I have one antiquey-looking clock that I bought from a small gift shop back in the 1980s which has withstood the test of time. Hell or high water, that clock keeps running and running, and I have never even had to change the battery even once. Have never been able to figure that one out.

My dad taught me how to do so many things (Daddys girl here, still to this day, and I'm 68). I now know i can fix it! Was it called a movement box? Much love from Utah ❤
