I'm using this adapter with 2m HDMI 2.1 48gbps cable, LG CX 48" and RTX 2080 S. Initially it wouldn't work, lot of issues, but Club 3D responded immediately and provided new firmware and settings instructions. Once I followed it, I could get 3840x2160 in PC mode 120hz, RGB, 10bit. There is no option for 4:4:4, but there's no issues with RGB, text is crystal clear. Only remaining issue is I need to powercycle adapter after exiting from some games - inconvenient but no big deal. P.S. Am I worried about burn-in? Not in the slightest. I've used Alienware R13 OLED for 3.5 years, as I would normal screen, no burn-in at all. Also still have B6 55", C6 65" for 4y as TVs, with PS4, Xbox One and Steam Link, heavy use - no burn-in. For me, no other screen technology compares, and technology is to be used and enjoyed, 5y warranty covers expected life span for me, not going to be worried or paranoid, life is too short.

you will have to wait for someone to make a convertor box DP to HDMI is far easier to do because DP is designed with HDMI convertion in mind DP to HDMI or HDMI to DP is rarely ever bidirectional, especially in high bandwidth adapters like HDMI 2.1 or 2.0

Dam... Hate living in South Africa. Does not ship here. Most things cost me 2-3x more due to high shipping and customs duty. I have a C9 and 2080ti. I also have some HDMI 2.1 Vention & Moshou both optical and copper cables. I'm really keen to hear if this works as I cant afford another big gpu buy. Pitty G-Sync doesnt work :-(. Really keen to see test result with 2m club3d cable. Please also test another brand cable like monoprice/amazon basics/ugreen 2m and 3m.

If only this device would trick the Macbook Pro M1 to think it was display port all the way thoruhg to the TV. My macbook knows it ends up at and HDMI port and limits to 60hz. Even when using a USB-c to Display. port 1.4 adapter, once plugged into this adapter it shows up as HDMI to the MAC. Im wondering if there is a way to miodify it's firmware to trick the mac into thinking it's just Display port to get full 120hz

Just got my LG C1 today, works with this adapter and the 1370 HDMI cable (1.5m) running through 2080 Ti at 10bit/RGB/120hz no problems but unfortunately it's a bit of a bother with the handshake problems.

It's very unlikely that the new consoles will be able to use this, but they won't need to either way. This is meant to convert signal from a DisplayPort 1.4 connector (not used on consoles) to an HDMI 2.1 connector. Since the new consoles will have HDMI 2.1 ports, the adapter would have no purpose.

Wondering if this could be used with the 1440p odyssey g7 which can output at 240hz put only through the display port, if you were to plug in the Xbox series x when it comes out, keeping in mind that the Samsung g7 can take a 4k signal and has very good 4k downscaling. Reason being the hdmi 2.0 port can only do 1440p at 120hz

I feel this adapter was rushed to market as I'm encountering many issues 1 is when minimizing from a game the screen just goes black and you have to pull the usb out and back in to get a picture again. Keep getting white dots every now and then on the right side of the screen. Probably going to return and just wait until 3000 series release.

@@jaysupermoto With both the C9 and CX, you have to change the HDMI input label Icon in the drop down menu in the LG's Home Dashboard to "PC". This the only way to allow the TV to display 4:4:4. Any other label has a max of 4:2:2

Working perfectly I order both, as you shown above. I can change the resolution when ever I want in the NVidia control panel no problem at all. I have the lg Oled55c9 and a gtx 1650 (support DSC 1.2). I’m watching movies now at 3840x2160@60Hz rgb 444 full 10 bit BT2020. HDMI diagnostic is showing bandwidth 44.48gbps. When I change it in pc mode it does support 4K@120Hz rgb 444 full 10 bit. So I think it work.

On my C9 with a 2080ti i'm outputting 3840 x 2160, 120Hz, 12 bpc, RGB. The only downside is when I exit games or change resolutions the screen goes black and I have to pull the HDMI out the adapter and put it back in for the screen to appear. I can live with that when the alternative is buying a brand new GPU.

Curious why you brave souls would use a PC on your C9's. Aren't you guys worried about burn-in? I've seen quite a few burn-in videos on OLED folks who used it for gaming and PC use--which is my reasoning for buying a QLED Samsung. I to am curious about your results . Please post when you can. Just switched from a C8 to a C9 and I’ve never had an issue. I do very my content significantly and overall I’m very pleased with my LG OLED. I HIGHLY suggest picking up an open box from Best Buy and getting a screamin deal but then also picking up the 5 year geek squad warranty. Doing this gets you the best possible price and peace of mind. The tv will be covered by a manufacturers warranty for one year and any uniformity issues you have will result in a panel replacement. Contact Best Buy about your issue, if you have one, not LG. They’ll get you swapped out and you’ll have a brand new tv! The 5 year extended warranty is great because it does cover burn in and the way it works is that if you have any burn in or uniformity defects (all OLED panels have uniformity issues) then they’ll attempt to replace the panel, if the panel replacement costs more than 80% of what you paid for the tv they’ll issue you a store credit toward a new tv. So if you buy right then you’ll always be guaranteed an upgrade to the latest tech and only at the cost of the 5 year warranty.

You just have to be slightly careful. Hide icons, dont leave display on when afk, turn down HUD elements, and if you're gonna play the same game for 1k hrs prolly use a regular monitor. I wouldnt play Overwatch on it for example. It's worth the fuss for the absolute best picture quality

Can you test this with other lengthed 2.1 HDMI cables, as a followup? I don't use my 55 inch as my main monitor, and this length (the 10K HDMI cable) wouldn't make it from my computer to my TV. It would be nice to know if buying the Display Port to HDMI 2.1 adapter would be worth it with longer cables, or if the drop off in signal would be too much. Thank you for reviewing this for us. I'm using a slightly longer HDMI 2.1 cable with the CAC-1085 and not having any issues with the C9, I just used a thick cable. Got a few odd black flashes when fiddling and forcing resolutions, sometimes had to set the OLED as the main. This was my stop gap to hold me off buying a 3xxx series RTX and stick with my 2080ti

How so? I own 2 C9's a 55/65" the CX has the 40gbs/sec necessary for 4k-120 at 10bit color the same as the C9, the only difference is the CX doesn't have the spare 8gbps for 12bit.
