It's just that the Codey guy(an ex-admin) felt he didn't have a voice in the updates and there issues between the moderators, so he kept threatning them to shut the server down over anything that it started happening almost every week. After the team decided to demote Codey, he started giving DDos and Swatting threats against the moderators, so the other admins decided to close the game before anything dangerous happens.

Club penguin rewritten uses the old client for the people who want to take a quick nostalgia trip. Club penguin online is honestly what I prefer, because there's a lot more games and moderators. Also, they give you free membership so that's pretty neat.
