Big hit on HOT 97 in New York City! KYZE was also the rapper on the Freestyle classic "The Lover Who Rocks You" By India! Then KYZE just sorta disappeared :(

I think the label waited too long on a follow-up to Stomp. Stomp was released end of 89 and then his album and the rest of his singles were out in 92.

@@ClubMTVFanPage Yeah, I'm sure that was a big part of the problem. Also, by 1992 and 1993 many of the Top 40 and Contemporary Rhythmic stations were starting to make significant changes to their formats, and started gearing away from dance & club music. HOT 97 in NYC began a slow change into more of a Hip-hop and R&B direction. Although Kyze was technically a rapper, I assume he was probably thought of as more of "local dance music" artist as opposed to a big hip-hop act. Whatever the reason, it's sad that he didn't have more of a chance to shine and have his time in the spotlight! STOMP was an absolute CLASSIC!!!

Thank you family for the love - Warner drop the ball on the record - in 89 they had no clue it would blow so they didn’t have any product available during the Christmas season I didn’t want to make 10 songs like stomp So I became a stock broker- now I’m retired and love seeing the comments from time to time But life is good and yes selling my souls was never going to happen I felt like the ship had sailed and music was changing - plus producers were clickish so getting great records was hard when everyone had a crew Now I’m a beast in the stock market and love playing with my son In the sun Peace -KYZE

@@InvestmentDojo Thanks for the response and the update! Happy to hear you're doing well! I'm still ready to let the dogs 🐕 loose though....whenever I play "Stomp" on KZbin or on the original CD! It would be great to see a KYZE comeback performance at some point! However, as we've been hearing recently on Facebook, if you're not one of the usual handful of 9 or 10 acts that gets regularly booked at every show, getting any bookings anywhere is extremely difficult. Best of luck with everything and I'm still a KYZE fan!
