Bill Maher, it would be great for you to invite John McEnroe back for further discussion. Tennis too. As most people know, talking about the nuances of tennis gets Mac pretty wound up in a food way. And civil rights to a degree it seems. Good to see him opinionated on subjects yet respectful to most people. And, the way he dislikes the Queen of England for all of that England hierarchy pomp & circumstance. God, I hope Mac lives much longer to see his additional insights.

John seems very genuine. By far the best guest you've had on the show. I especially agree with his comment about sometimes having "hacks" on Real-time. Depending on who's talking sometimes, I have to fast forward.

John McEnroe is great. As a tennis fan, I love it when he's calling the match. I'll watch a match just to hear his commentary, no matter's who is playing. He's great cause he's so honest & will tell it like it is. Good thing he's not on social media cause he probably would've been cancelled. He got in hot water about 5 years ago because he dared to say that he didn't think Serena was the GOAT. It was a big controversy but he stuck to his guns, didn't change his opinion, and refused to apologize for what he said.

I was in Miami with my son on Father's Day and we went for breakfast on Key Biscayne. As we drove past the tennis complex, I told him how I saw John play on a small court at The Lipton Tournament in 1990. He was playing an up an comer from Central Europe who must had been 15 years younger. The match went five sets, closing the place down for the night past 10 pm. What a night, such wonderful energy and respect for a real pro. John won.

I never really noticed it until now but Bill needs to take a pause and let the guest speak. He monopolizes the conversation.

Mr. Maher, We just completed a study in conjunction with the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Urban Justice and the University of Illinois Strive for Equality Project that concluded that out of 245,000 cases studied nationally 2020-2022 where a person was told, "Police, freeze, do not move, and put your hands in the air!", 29,645 failed to heed the warning of an armed law enforcement officer and attempted to flee jeopardizing their life, that officer and any other responding officers lives, as well as the lives of amy citizens who might serve as collateral damage through, crossfire, hostage, or other. In short, the study found only 41 times an officer fired a shot before being shot at and less than 25 times an unarmed, uncooperative assailant was killed. Facts do not support the slightest hint of growing racism, disregard for human rights, or police brutality among our nation's large and small police departments.

One of my favorite parts of these podcasts are Bill's hostage video commercials. And he gave Ben Shapiro a hard time on the ones he did on HIS podcast. 😄

Between this and the Guttfeld episode, it’s the least Bill is able speak. Very interesting to see him get frustrated. Great show.

Johnny Mac! Love this guy! Had his Nike poster on my wall growing. I blame him for ruining my tennis career before it really got started. I tried to model my game after him... I was able to poorly replicate one aspect of his game and it wasn't his soft touch. Our tennis coach hated me and I quit playing... haha... Anyway, he is still my all time favorite and I love his post tennis career as well.

I love Real Time and Club Random. I like who you are and agree with 99% of what you say. I have an observation and mean this with great respect. You have a tendency to cut people off. This episode has the most instances of John being unable to complete sentences. I'm absolutely sure the clove and drink add to it, lol. I, too, smoke clove cigarettes, especially while watching Random. :)

Johnny was ready to take it to another level there. Bill has to read the guests better and go with it like Rogan does. Also the drink table setup is a disaster.

Exactly. Most of Bill's neo-liberal arguments are so intellectually weak and factually false somebody needs to go in there and just continually dunk on his face, like Shaq shattering the backboard, right there in his house, and make him the bitch he is. It isn't the guest's job to be a gentleman and it isn't the host's job to win each argument. We are not going to play like that. Let the Truth win. Then maybe Maher could wake-up and we could start fresh with him and forget about it!

Love JM, what a great chap. People didn't get him in his hay day here in the UK particularly where "the brat" was a label I recall. For me he was super skilled and had a temperament that was the opposite of Borg. And it helped him motivate himself on court. That's how some people are. The level of giving a shit was what I saw in him. And he's obviously not a sport brat cause all you have to do is listen to him talk, he's open and has humility about that time :-) Nice guy.
