Ms. Debra's unwillingness/inability to acknowledge the truth is proof that she is deeply traumatized. She reminds me of family members who believe you should take it to your grave. The problem with that train of thought is, the trauma never seems to die.💔

Shannon means well by asking about counseling with his mom. AND speaking from personal experience if someone is going to continually lie & deny. Kirk has to make peace with maybe his mom doesn't have the capacity to reveal truth it maybe too painful for her. And the continually lying is damaging to him. Shannon sometimes we have got to let ppl including person move how they are going to move and move on and heal our lives.

I have a different spin on this. What if Kirk's Mom actually thought that the other guy was his father? Maybe she's shocked too. Not to mention embarrassed and probably feels a lot of shame. Not knowing his father would have a lot of people thinking that she was "fast" for a 15 year old. Who knows though.

Kirk need to tell his mom how he feels and forgive. Then give it to Jesus and let it go. Easier said but worth being done. Instead of letting this wound remain unhealed and worsening; creating a bad name for her worse than what it is… but foster children have a inferior complex needing someone to cause him to grow up!

If you watched his documentary he has told her. She lies continually in the middle of him telling her. Forgiveness does not mean build a relationship with said person esp if they are toxic. Pain doesn't disappear bc someone forgives. He's got to protect his heart from ALL toxic ppl.
