I began teaching both of my children to read when they were toddlers. My oldest sat in the teachers chair and read for her preschool class. Take control of your children's education. I worked full time. So did my husband. So there's ZERO excuse for your children to have the inability. We couldn't homeschool. Not in this fckd up economy but I TAUGHT my children. My youngest, my kids are 10 years apart, wasn't being taught cursive so I encouraged her to learn and she has. She's 13 now. They don't teach cursive because if you can't read it you won't be able to read historical documents. Stop the cycle. Just do it. Your kids are worth it.

BOOM!! 🎯 - first gifts my daughters got were books, Saturdays at the public Library, they’re both millennials and we required them to read the newspaper as kids - daily - and bring back a story or article that interested them for us to talk about at the dinner table, during dinner. We read to them when my wife was pregnant with them. Now in their 30s, books all over their apartments, always one on hand, they want to know what I’m reading, recommendations for new books. Most importantly, ZERO interest in/presence on social media (no FB, IG, SC, TT, etc.) - they see right through its superficiality. It’s a shame that, as a culture, we expect the education system to teach lessons we’ve historically learned first AT HOME.

What he saying is when people are [truly appreciated in pay] by their dedication and what they bring to the table as teachers (which is a big responsibility than people realize) they respect and honor their job better in which would then benefit the children. ❤As an Educator of 20+ years & current Principal, this is one of the only professions that require so many degrees, certifications and specializations… YET.. we get paid less than it cost to obtain these things AND People who have none of these things, nor have ever done what we do , can tell us how to do our jobs. 🤦🏾‍♀️. The person who wrote about “teachers intentionally not teaching & should be fired“ TOTALLY MISSED THE POINT! So let me break it down…. Most people invest thier finances in what they value! For example, you can’t say that having your own roof over your head is something you value…. BUT You spend your “hard earned money” on everything except rent/mortgage, etc. If you say it’s of value- then your finances should align! Sub-Par pay = Sub-Par Professionals(Some are passionate & teach regardless but some have SUB PAR SKILLS & no passion). It has to do with the extreme credential heavy Educators choosing a profession other than their passion because there’s no alignment with the claims of Education being important, The requirements for Educators & The Pay! In other words, the math ‘ain’t mathin’. 😮😊

He is so right about teacher pay. The government finds money for everything, but they can't find money to give teachers a decent wage. In several parts of the country, teachers literally pull two jobs. Like, they work all day dealing with people's spoiled entitled kids, then go home and grade papers, and THEN also drive Uber. It's crazy.

Katt is speaking so much truth, with humility, and dignity, that he is now on my prayer list.....because folks don't like the dark coming out in the light. Every now and then, a truth teller comes around. Prophets talk about the future, truth tellers talk about what has been going on, right under your noses. And the silence is real! 💯

At the age of 32 I've realised how valuable my school teachers were back when I knew so little compared to today. I still know very little but the more knowledge that Ive acquired over time, the more I realise how truly helpful and genuine my past teachers were, even if I disliked some of them, they were simply being protective and sometimes overeprotective towards someone elses children, something you don't always see. Some teachers even attempted to help some of the more inquisitive students to break out of this "simulated reality" by providing some students with powerful knowledge that wasn't a part of the "curriculum" but wcould benefit them for the decades to come.
