It takes balls to admit you were jealous of someone and wanted what they have. A lot of people can't admit that. Props to Mr. Davidson.

Not saying this is isn’t solid, but not everyone has an envious personality. I can be happy for others to where I’m not jealous. I have accepted that my journey is mine alone and others are walking theirs.

I thought the same about Damon Wayans. Should have been a major star. But he also had a bit of an attitude about things, if you catch my drift. Maybe a touch too independent, or standoffish. I know because I've got a touch of that my own self. In Living Color had so much talent for its first three years or so, it was crazy. But Hollywood can wear you down as a performer and a person.

People too young to have seen In Living Color in its heyday have no idea what they missed… And the thing is that back then Jamie (as talented as he was) was just an afterthought on that show. Jim Carrey was a massive star. So was Damon Wayans. And Tommy and David Allan Grier were incredibly talented too. Maybe the best comedy sketch show of all time.

I'll preface my comments by saying I've met Tommy Davidson on several occasions, including at a party at his house during my Los Angeles days (great times) and would bump into him at Gold's Gym in Venice. The man was always very nice and cheerful and would say hi or I'd say "what's up Tommy?" He'd always respond!! Now, as talented a showman and actor/comedian as Tommy is known for -- Jaime is several levels above in all -- and that's incredible!! Tommy should be as rich and as wealthy in stature but that's the funny way things work out for a lot of reasons. Blessings to both.

Life is about eras. When people are talented and hardworking, they will most likely have their era. I think Tommy Davidson was funnier than Jamie Foxx on In Living Color. But then Jamie became the bigger Hollywood star. Tommy may have wanted the latter because more fame and money come with it. But you can't forget how God blessed you at a time to be at the apex. Let's say a former h.s. classmate has a new luxury car and you have an older modest car. But what if you had the fly car in high school and they didn't have one? If you think about it, back then could have been a bigger deal for your confidence and amongst your peers. So why get down comparing as long as you have something to ride now? It might just be their time. Or sometimes people go routes your purpose doesn't align with do get things. Be thankful for the good things in your life and savor the moments you feel was your era in any lane. And don't let people downplay that time because they have it now. And you never know; it could be your era again soon.
