I am mexican and was into martial arts (not anymore cuz im broke due to me choosing uni) but mma was barely here, in the sense that the presence of it is not as big as you would think, but give it a few years and you will see more of us there. And the reason we are good at fighting sports may be because of our upbringing, we are not as shielded as others in other countries (going to school is kind of a risk if for example you come from estado de mexico to CDMX, cuz combis are always in jeopardy for armed thieves and in the subway there are also thieves), so we learn to fight back and not give up, and also to defend those who are weaker than us and respect our elders, thus our deep love and respect for abuelitas 😂.

Mexican kids, at least when I was a kid, were not allowed by parents to cry and not to self defense if needed. Additionally, national pride regarding warriors and wars are taught in schools and finally, it is very common the boxing fights during rests or at the end of school day... fighting is in Mexicans' veins.
