I agree. Joe Rogan is an absolute legend. His knowledge is amazing. His commentating skills are incredible. When he speaks and says stuff like “all he needs to do from this position is swing leg around grab his left arm” blah blah blah, and it HAPPENS?! Now that’s some next level knowledge. He predicts moves before they happen. It’s as interesting if not more interesting than some of the fights.

He’s had some high flying friends also. He went to high school with Lorenzo Fertitta who was a former member of Nevada state athletic commission (when Tyson bit Holyfields ear) and got him and his brother Frank Fertitta III to buy UFC. They had the cash, business acumen, political connections and insight to get the UFC the abilty to hold fights in every state eventually. But, with all that, Dana was the perfect face and voice for the UFC (brash, unapologetic and street smart. Truly the best fight promoter of all time.

My uninformed take on it is that McGregor was not intrinsically motivated. He was talking about his fighting goals when he was poor and it was that he wanted to make $x millions and be a two division champ and one or two other things like that. He blew those goals out of the water. So, what next then? He wasn't aiming to be the best MMA guy of all time or anything like that. It's very difficult to become a champion, but it's even more difficult to maintain that status for long periods of time unless you are intrinsically motivated. And, it's probably even more difficult to be that way when your job is to get punched in the face.

My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public.
