For a new player trying to get my head around the basics, it was really helpful the way you slowed things right down. Thanks.

I realized I forgot how to play cluck ol' hen. Thinking to myself, "I want to play this in sawmill" went looking at how it's played and of course Hillary's got a video, and of course it's in double C. She loves the ol' sawmill. I've been playing through her songbook but didn't even think to check her channel for this one. Great book by the way. If you like her style pick it up!

I am learning Jed Clampett and Salt Creek, so I really, really enjoyed your video. I play Scruggs style on a $300 Epiphone and I play with the Prince George Old Time Fiddlers and I am the token banjo player. I try to learn guitar and banjo closed chords at the same time. I love that old song. Thanks again. Richard

Wonderful! One of my favorite old time tunes. Simple, yet so much there to play with. With or without the vocals. Nice playing!

This is very similar to Vestor Jones version - he plays in sawmill with the banjo tuned down a whole tone. I love to bend the notes on third and fourth string :)
