I love that Mrs. White threatens Wadsworth, he says no man in his right mind would be caught alone with her, then a little later Yvette asks if someone would go with her and Mr. Green says "No Thank You", and then when they draw straws, Wadsworth and Mrs. White end up alone together and Mr. Green ends up being the one to go with Yvette.

Ok, it's not exactly the same type of movie, but I recommend "Without a Clue", if you haven't already seen it. It stars Michael Caine. It tells the story of Sherlock Holmes, but from the angle of Watson being the mastermind, and Holmes being mainly a figurehead. It's a bit like Remington Steele. Of course, something happens to Watson, and Holmes has to figure out how to get him back.

Thank you SO much for reacting to this movie! It's in my top 10 movies of all time. I never get tired of watching it. It's like visiting with an old friend. Yes...the jokes are somewhat super corny, but that's what makes it lovable. Fun fact...Lee Ving who played Mr. Body, was in a punk rock band in the early to mid 70's called "Fear". They were invited to play on Saturday Night Live in it's very early days by one of their biggest fans, John Belushi. What makes this notable is that after the performance, they were banned from SNL for life. They played offensive songs, used obscene language and the dancers destroyed the set with their slam dancing onstage.

This is a great movie it is true, but the house always reminds me of my mum's job. She was a guide at Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire (as owned by Lord Byron) and that is riddled with secret passages - for real. This fascinated me in my former years... I also cured my fear of the dark by `playing' around the Abbey at night. It is a great old gothic building, complete with forests, formal gardens and a tomb for Byron's dog. Wander around there at night and NOTHING seems scary afterwards...

Those 3 run a suicide help line, it's near Christmas and there's a serial killer on the loose. If you loved this movie, you gotta watch "Murder by Death". It's an 70's crime/mystery comedy that parodies the great fictional detectives of literature (Ms. Marples, Dick Tracey, Charlie Chan, etc.). All are all invited to a mansion by a mystery host who tells them they are all full of shit, and then announces out of spite he will be murdered that night and challenges them to solve it before dawn. Peter Falk, David Niven, Fay Wray, Peter Sellers, Eileen Brennan, etc.

Probably stated elsewhere, but with nearly 200 comments at the time of me adding this, not going through them all. Fact 1) There are 4 shot Endings, and six written endings, however test audiences for the 4th ending disliked it and it only ended up in like 3 theatres nationwide, so when they did the compilation ending, they didn't include the 4th ending, and the other two endings were left on earlier drafts of the script, never to see the lights of on set. Fact 2) The infamous Flame Lines were entirely improvised by Madeleine Kahn. Fact 3) Actually, the Flame bit wasn't the only thing improvised. Mr. Green's "I hate when he does that" and Mrs. White's reaction meek scream are among the numerous improvisations throughout the film. Professor Plumb's position demonstration... the "Mummy and Daddy" (Col Mustard scripted line was "When my Parents died during the war", but Mull substituted the more childlike "Mummy and Daddy" which triggered the reaction by Curry you see on screen).
