@@Triciamichelle_yt 1 Month before Kobe Bryant dropped 81 points they were playing the #1 seed Mavericks team that made the NBA Finals that year & Kobe outscored the entire Mavericks team through 3 quarters by himself, the Mavericks had 61 while Kobe had 62 & his team was up by 30 points. Kobe then sat out the entire 4th quarter & the coach tried putting him back in because he could have easily scored 80 that night & Kobe told the coach "nah, I'll do it some other time." A month later Kobe drops 81 points on January of 2006 absolutely insane what a Prime Kobe Bryant was capable of.

Now I'm not saying Jordan got rings every year, I'm saying every time that the Bulls reach the finals with him in it, they won.

Check out his game of 81 points. Also, check out his defense. Growing up watching basketball, I can say Kobe, a.k.a. the Black Mamba, is the closest thing to MJ. What his teammate was attempting to do was set a pick or screen to assist in Kobe being able to score. As you see, Kobe didn't need it. Finally, he played the scoring guard (or second position) and as the NBA evolved, 2 guards weren't limited to playing the "top of the key," as it's called.

The play you asking about where his teammate stands to help him, is called to set a "pick" or a "screen". The purpose of it is for the guy with the ball to get his defender to get stuck on that pick so he can keep on going. In fact, the "oldest play in basketball" is the pick and roll. The pick and roll starts the same way, a teammate sets a "pick" for the guy with the ball. However, instead for the guy with the ball to keep going, since his defender will more than likely get stuck on the pick, the player guarding the player who sets the pick will be forced to switch on to the guy with the ball. In which case the player who sets the pick should "roll" to the basket, and be open most of the time, since the player who got caught in the pick, as well as the guy who had been guarding him when he set the pick will both be trying to stop the guy with the ball. It's one of the most beautiful plays in the game of basketball. I'm impressed you saw that, even though you had no previous knowledge of what a pick was. Kudos to you for that !! *The guy wearing the mask, you got that right as well. Yes, indeed It's meant to either protect an injured nose or other part of the face, as well as protecting a reinjury of either a broken nose or other part of the face. Very impressed by how you understand things you see for the first time. **Please do a video on Dirk Nowitzki, you won't be dissapointed. Trust me !!!

11:48 In case you didn't figure it out by now, it's called a pick. A common play using a pick is called a pick and roll. It screws the defense up, because they're not sure if it's just a pick, or a pick and roll.

On the office the man without the ball may screen a defensive player -usually sets up of the side of the defensive player away from his offensive player - gives his offensive player with the ball a way to pass beside him while he screens out the defensive player.

Athletics should be subjective in terms of how it is evaluated on performance: if an athlete runs faster, jumps higher, hits harder, moves quicker, and makes it all look easy, those who can't stand the competition may seek to use some other barometer to measure their speed, height, distance, and power. But how the black athlete makes it look so damn easy is a wonder within itself and cannot be defrauded; they are truly AWESOME!!!
