TBF to me we had lost our gear in one of the roughest narrow canyons I've ever seen in the game with mines, an eye of Sauron, and a factoryless jammer that covered much of evac combined with them attempting to make a stand against hulks without gear meant that there was no chance the mission was going to end well. Better to make a solo sneak attempt than to die together pointlessly.

Thankfully we still had the samples when we made it to the ship. I did have a good laugh at the absurdity of it during the loading screens though.
