My boss used to stop by a laundromat after every camping trip or vacation. They would take their suitcases in to the laundromat and every member of the family would help get the laundry done so when they went home each person could unpack and mom didn’t have to recover from trips. It takes an hour but saves many hours of work. How’s that for laundry math?

I used to do this when I picked my kids up from camp. We went directly to the laundromat so that all the dirt and bugs never came into the house and sleeping bags could be washed when our washer was much smaller. The kids actually looked forward to this time because we'd take small games (pass the pigs, phase 10 dice, card games, etc.) and they'd have my undivided attention while the machines were doing the hard part. They could share all of their camp stories and they'd help fold everything and haul it back out to the car. They're now grown, but they still talk about going to the laundromat fondly.

Cas, I'm loving that our house has a roof because it's been raing all day. There are many things I don't love about it that need to be fixed or repaired, but financially, right now, we can't fix them. I've been working in my hot mess of a sewing / craft room for 2 wks, which was filled to the brim of so much stuff that needed to go away. I'd say it's still 1/2 full, but that means that 1/2 of it is gone. I'm still working at getting more stuff put. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll be done. Then that will be 1 room that I will love & that will be a start. 😊

Wow Cass. I walk around my yard and look at my home from every angle and take a few deep breaths. Staying in the family home after divorce where there are so many bad memories is tough so I’ve started painting rooms, changed out trim, fixed things, put up curtain rods, painted furniture and boy it’s made a difference. Slow going with depression but every day I’ve made progress even if it’s a nap. It’s great not living with a hoarder so I do Wonder Woman twirls in the empty spaces without fail. I have a dance like no one’s looking space in my lounge. The ex hated my cleaning of anything so I gave up and I’m going to get back to my teen self where I decluttered all the time and kept my room so damn tidy. Therapy has helped with the trauma of always being told that my cleaning style was bad. Love my new bed but can’t sleep in the main room as I’d hoped so I’m moving my bed downstairs. Glad I decluttered over the years prior to divorce. I’m putting up art and decor for the first time without complaints from the peanut gallery. Starting to appreciate my cottage for the first time in 16yrs. Am trying to do some ‘honey dos’ at night even though it’s just me as a bonus and that’s good. It can even be prepping for a job in the morning. ❤

Cas, I found you a few weeks ago and have made so much progress decluttering! I started with a drawer in the kitchen and just kept on going. I've completed so much because you gave me the knowledge and permission to break it down into manageable projects. And, how to declutter and not make a mess by getting rid of things NOW by trashing, bagging to donate, and putting them right in the car rather than leaving the stuff sitting in the house. What a difference! This method has been so liberating, getting free of so much stuff that has been weighing me down for years. I'm not done yet but I'm so happy with what I've done in a few weeks! Kudos for today's video, I'm gonna keep on lovin' my house - I love it more and more as I get rid of what I don't want/need/use anymore!

Ok the talk about my house really got me. So 10yrs ago I went to visit a friend and she took me inside this house. Belongs to her mother and is a rental. I fell so in love. It's over 100 years old and on main street in a small historic mountain town. The garden is beautiful and I was instantly like this is my dream house. Fast forward ten years and I am finally living in it. With fibromyalgia and depression it can get out of control fast and I start hating it in here. It's a cluttered mess and not at all my vision of my dream house. Example is that the second bedroom is just a jumbled storage mess I can't even walk into rather than a cute guest room or craft room. So while you talked I worked on my kitchen. I got so much done! Even washed the window above my sink 😊. I'm feeling motivated to do a bit more, but even if I stopped now I would be happy. I always clean to cleaning video and podcasts and you are my go to

Identity clutter is SO hard to part with and slows me down. Sometimes it’s like my mind hasn’t caught up with the fact that my body has changed and I can’t do the hobbies I used to do because of arthritis, neck, and back problems. Nor do I have the stamina to Declutter or clean even a third as much as I used to. I need to just make progress and let go and understand that life has changed permanently. Make room for the current status…. but I’m definitely going to keep a couple of boxes of my older, smaller clothes in case I can start exercising and dieting again lol - clothes have increased by about 40% in price in the past four years and I picked out all my items so carefully by color it’s sad to lose that part also. But I have to start somewhere… And with the limited physical capability of a few minutes each day I need to remember that progress is still progress.

Thanks, I actually needed this today; daylight saving time started so the dogs didn't know when to sleep and when to wake, so woke me up an hour earlier. Then I didn't have time to wash my female dog just getting over heat so my male dog was still going bonkers, and my old dog seems to need to go outside 6 times this morning, and it is dark! And they all got upset when I started working "an hour early", so I put them in crates which they didn't like either...so, maybe listen to Cass instead of all this! And I put on the headphones to block out the dog barking and it did make me smile and calm down! So after the podcast went down and cleaned up the kitchen a little, and now it is an hour later and the dogs have calmed down. So it is better. Some points on travel- I used to travel for work 4 days a week and learned to immediately start the wash upon getting home, so within about 12 hours it is mostly done. I work from home now, but like to do laundry now once a week, usually on Sundays since that is the first day of the week- have a cutoff of laundry and do every spec of it, so it is "done" once a week. So then it becomes a "weekly" task, and I try to get weekly tasks like bathing the dog done before Friday, so literally Saturday is a "rest" day with all the weekly tasks done. I have weekly tasks at work as well and try to get all those done early in the week, then Saturdays is my rest day! But yes, I do love my house for the space it provides, so taking care of it is great advice!

This has been so perfect today thank you! I've just had such a hard time today and many days getting moving. Thank you so much for bringing to attention to having gratitude and loving on our house. This really helps. Grab a couple trash bags, grab your one wonder cleaner and a rag and "love clean" your house!

I started in my bedroom with my clothes and closet. It had some bullies still hanging on that were from my days of having a office job when I was younger and had more energy and money, now I’m lucky enough that I tend towards a lot more casual and more comfortable clothes and I don’t remember the last time I even thought about wearing these clothes. So they are in the donation bin now. I got enough free hangers for my clean clothes that were laying on top of a dresser to now hang in the closet and fit better. I also got a load of clothes started in the laundry project process. (Day earlier than I usually do, but the schedule is to remind myself to check the clothes bins.) And the bathroom is cleaner. Now I’m resting in a rocking chair with my heating pad on my back too. About to listen to an audiobook, podcast, or some music next. It’s a good day.

Thank you Cas. This was just what i needed to hear. I've had a crappy week with my fibromyalgia and just had energy or motivation to do anything except the bare minimum. I've been keeping up with my dishes and doing a 5 min pickup a couple of times a day but thats it. XX
