Matt’s 360 pop shuv tail grab was nasty… especially for its time!

Man, I remember this. I was there. The launch 'Hicktown' was pretty perfect. We kept all of this at the church off Campbell Ave. Remember Dave? Older guy with the glasses, opened the church for us to skate, lived right up the street? Chad, Craig Kossel, John Sheffey, . . . Good times

two things, you were lucky to be in an area that had so many demos, and secondly, you were smart enough and lucky to have a camera to video tape them! So rad!

This is GREAT! I lived in Huntington West Virginia around this time. I'm thinking 89-90 Hensley, Ron allen Sean Sheffey and a few others came through. I would say it was the same tour. Loving these vids man!

I remember Godfather's Pizza told us they didnt want us coming in anymore. We would come in to take a break from the heat. We played video games, bought cheese bread and all you can drink soda. I guess he didnt like the fact that we actually took advantage off all you can drink( but we only had like 2 or 3 a piece). But mainly skater hate. Haha.

I've tried to explain to my son how much skaters were outsiders then. I was skating every day late 80's-early 90's & people did not want to know.

Some of the best times of life were skating in the late 80s. In 89 I got sponsored from boardwalk boards in VA. Got 2 free decks a month and some other stuff..but I thought I was big shit back then..then I ruined everything over a girl i stoped skating everyday .and that was it for skateboarding... That was the mistake I have ever made...so if anyone's is reading this keep doing what you love don't quit over some chick
@crazycatman59282 ай бұрын
I quit for a girl too. I skated from 87-92. Last trick I learned was 360 flip in 92 which wasn’t easy back then. I first biggest regret in a list of many regrets of my life.

@nobodysreview61376 жыл бұрын

@@jerrykhoff9023 I started skateboarding in the 80s when everything was different. I'm a nostalgic of that era, I miss that vibe when the skateboard scene was supported by skaters and not by energy drinks. If you don't like my statement, read something else. P. S. I'm not a native english speaker
@jerrykhoff90232 жыл бұрын
@@andreabordoni2665 No worries, I started in the early 90's when skating was literally dead. Plan B Questionable was my favorite video(might still be)...My boards were mostly Popsicle sticks, but prior to that I had a few old ass boards that were shaped that we used for butt boarding....not really skating as we know it, just fun little kid stuff. The energy drink thing is controversial....personally I only drink water or beer, but those energy drink companies do pay to keep some of our favorite skaters going and not have to find a second job/retire
