I had the pleasure of meeting Bully Ray in 2017 where we shared a locker room for WCPW. I was intimidated by his size and aura BUT once I introduced myself and shook his hand, that all washed away. He took the piss out of my wrestling gear (I was a heel wearing god awful gear) and spoke to both me & my partner like human beings. I asked him, if you have time sir, could you watch our match please? He politely declined with a genuine sincerity & and reasons as to why, apologised profusely and gave me & my partner 10-15 minutes of his time to talk about tag wrestling and little things that were beyond valuable to both of us. As far as professionals go, Bully is up there as one of the most professional wrestlers I’ve ever met. 👊🏼👊🏼

I love AEW but there are humongous fucking problems with a couple of massive things. 1. Tony Khan needs to start asserting himself as THE BOSS. He signs the fucking checks, he needs to be the final say on everything. 2. The Bucks (Omega seems fine on all accounts) need to quit with their petty bullshit. It's annoying, it doesn't help with signing talent, it is vastly annoying. If that means they need to relinquish the EVP slot that's fine. 3. The signing of wrestlers. If you don't have a plan for them, why the fuck are you signing them? I love a guy like Brian Keith, but what the fuck has he been doing? What about Jay Lethal? Rush? These guys were literally in that tournament and they've been doing jack shit. 4. When the TV deal comes in again, it should be Collision and Dynamite and that's it. Dynamite should be AEW and AEW talent, Collision should be Ring of Honor Collision. There's too much talent, do a brand split. They should have done it when they started Collision and made Punk the ROH champion. Put your veterans and young talent on ROH and your established guys in the middle of their peak on AEW Dynamite. 5. You need way more fucking people working creative and being producers and having final say on stuff. If Malenko or Jerry Lynn tell you to do something, you are fucking doing it. 6. Please get a better social media team. Im so tired of seeing KZbin videos misspelled or the wrong title for a video. It's amateur af. 7. Do video packages that tell an average audience who the fuck some of these people you sign are. The average person just watching doesn't know who some of these people are.

The most frustrating thing about the Collision show is Punk didnt want it. He told Tony he wanted out and Tony wasnt having any of it so gave him the show, which lead to the Jack Perry incident which ultimately ended with Punk walking anyway. All because TONY COULDNT DO HIS DAMN JOB!!!! I would love if AEW were a competent company run by competent management but its not and for that alone, I care not if it ultimately fails.

@kob4569 ай бұрын
He's not right on that. AJ by 2008 slowed down significantly. During AJ's time in TNA, there were enough veterans and established acts from WWE, WCW, and ECW that came into TNA to work with AJ. AJ by 2010 already understood the WWE and inring psychology style. AJ wretled Kurt Angle and RVD literally on a weekly basis. He knew how to incorporate inring psychology and to slow it down by rubbing elbows with so many of the established guys he worked with in TNA.

The second Bully mentioned the bastardisation of movies the DDT immediately came to my mind. And the superkick of course. Usually kick outs during devastating moves like these were saved for big events like WrestleMania. But now it's become a common theme for any and all finishing moves to be kicked out of during the Grandest Stage of Them All. Just you wait and see as WrestleMania 40 is upon us.

@@kokocaptainqc It’s sad, too. I remember when Jake The Snake Roberts hit the DDT. It was special. It was that “Oh, SH*T!” move back in the day, like the Stone Cold Stunner or the RKO. The message Punk was trying to get across wasn't that nobody wanted him around. It was certain people, who had official power within the company, and their friends, didnt want him around. The second show was to separate Punk and his friends from the Elite and their friends.
@GenGamesUniverse9 ай бұрын
This is exactly what the message was 1000%, it's like I said, the all out brawl was going to happen one way or another and it wasn't a case of if, it was a case of when.

For some reason, old school wrestlers always want to point at the DDT when talking about finishers that shouldn't be kicked out of. The only guy who used it as a definitive finisher for the majority of his career was Jake. A move is only a finisher to the person who uses it as one. Hogan used a leg drop. That doesn't mean no one should ever kick out after a leg drop.
@Thinkcreep9 ай бұрын
It’s a move that drives the top of your head into the mat… hard. It should be lights out move. Not really comparable to the leg drop.

We could all agree to disagree. You can call Punk and Bubba/Bully Ray a prick. But if you were raised right to respect your elders and shake their hand when they introduce themselves, you would know what the real problem is. Punk is right. He is an adult in a locker room with children on it. Love or hate Phil, he's just telling the truth. Grown ups really hate disrespect.
@GenGamesUniverse9 ай бұрын
That's the thing what people don't realize, Phil knows he's an arrogant prick, but he doesn't care. Same goes for Bubba/Bully Ray, it's like the incident he had at ROH that time with a fan who tried to attack his girl and didn't go off on him but just took him to the back and got him to apologize and explained that she's only doing what she needs to do as she was a heel.
@jaybee42888 ай бұрын
Perry was born into a celebrity family, was a millionaire from birth, has the hottest girlfriend, had a great spot in wrestling his skill level didn’t really earn etc. This all lends itself to arrogance. Hopefully he learns something from all of this.

Bubba, you're not intimidating till you're pushed into that position. You go out of your way to pay it forward, your knowledge of the business, & anyone who shits on that deserves what they get for flipping your switch. Shared locker rooms with legends like Manny & Rock & Roll & it always blew my mind seeing these young boys act like they're anything. I spoke to the legends before the rest of the boys & always did my best to sit under the learning trees, absorbing & using the advice given to me. The absolute disrespect infuriates me. To end my rant on a positive note. Thank you for paving the path I walked on & for, even after having to retire from a bad injury, the knowledge I'm STILL absorbing to this day from you & the other legends who have podcasts & do shoots.

Bubba hit the nail right the head about AEW being ECW with money, holy shit! Don't get me wrong, I've always been a fan of extreme rules, hardcore matches and death matches, but now, AEW is turning it into a joke. AEW should hire this man to be like the head of public, talent and relations or even a booker or match maker even. Bubba has so much knowledge and experience about the business in and out of the ring. Knowing the good from the bad, he understands the talent and who they should be paired with.

Tony Khan running AEW and doing all the booking is the equivalent to if he was the Head coach and GM of the Jaguars.
@kev306319 ай бұрын
If he was proven to be good at it. I have no problem with him doing both. The problem is tony isn't good at it. This is tony and his dad's billions to spend. There is no scenario where it would be different. The best you could hope for is a compromise and them bringing in creative writers to (help) them. Because they will never, ever turn it completely over
@MPCuse9 ай бұрын
Tony really is a lot like his father, Shad Khan. From all accounts, Shad's a kind man but he doesn't put his foot down when the situation demands it. Take the Urban Meyer situation with the Jaguars. The fact that it was allowed to fester as long as it did is just bad leadership. It damn near ruined Trevor Lawrence's career.
