Be advised that the sulphur precursor they use is not HMDS, as noted. It is most likely Hexamethyldisilathiane. HMDS, used to prepare Si wafers for photoresist, does not contain any sulphur.

Hi there, in the introduction part, when Ashley is describing the ingredients, she says add 1.4g of Oleic Acid, then explains that is kept in the fridge for preservation and then says, we add 1.2g of that. Can you please add a note with the correct amount?? thanks!

12 years ago. PbS and PbSe would have very strong resonance in the reddish orange to near IR bands. (580 to about 2000nm wavelengths) Also they would be reasonably air stable as well.❤

6:45 there's no sulfur in hexylmethyldisilazane, but how does it become PbS when reacted with Pb precursor? seems like confused with hexamethyldisilathiane FYI

Naw just mini crystals of lead sulfide that are so small they act like antennas for light.😁🤓

No, it is simply a method of making florescent crystals with a very precise emission band. Can use almost anything to make these so long as it have a discrete band gap of voltage, for example GaN would make UV to green, PbSe would glow in the near infrared, this version would glow mostly yellow-orange at the particle size chosen.❤
