I know I personally latched onto the word skramz when I first heard it because I grew up hearing the popular kids criticise any somewhat heavy music I listened to by calling it "screamo" and simultaneously I saw really lame pop-metal bands called screamo by their fans. So overall I grew negative connotations with the word. I've come back around on screamo as a term though.

I played in Godspeed 30 years ago. We did reunion shows all the way up to the 2000s I think 2012 was the last one. I have moved on, thankfully. Expand my horizons! And I just got a deal in Nashville. If I went back to playing this kind of music, it would mean I failed at my other ventures. Important thing is I’m still playing after raising 4 kids.
