I’d argue that since Friend Circle/Train are more like minigames sections rather than true Kirby gameplay, and therefore shouldn’t count against the total. After all, Knuckle Joe isn’t jumping here: the Friend Circle and Friend Train are.

Well, technically... K-J is jumping in the Friend Train. He doesn't magically grow Rocket Legs and propel himself upwards with the A Button - he *jumps.* Can't say the same for the friend circle tho

Like so many of the other commenters, I'm itching to see a no-jump video for Planet Robobot (or minimum-jump, whichever turns out to be the applicable term)... but I'd definitely also like to see the guest star videos for any guest star that has at least one suitable jump replacement. If there are characters that either have no jump replacements, or only have jump replacements that would obviously have no chance of sufficiently serving as such, then there's obviously no real point in even doing the video for them. If there are enough such characters, maybe just do a quick list video showing who the ineligible characters are.

I have done this for all of the Dream Friends (not recorded, just a personal challenge). Here's what I found (not counting trains and circles): --King Dedede: Maybe Possible. Using Super Dedede Jump and then air dodging makes it theoretically possible, however I only discovered the Air Dodge tactic later. --Meta Knight: Maybe Possible. I had to jump during one section in level 5, but i think it is possible to use Shuttle Loop variants. --Bandana Waddle Dee: Possible. Using Bluster Spear and Waddle Copter is op. --Animal Friends: Impossible. They have no jump replacement. --Marx: Possible. Use ball toss, then air dodge infinitely. Also, once you air dodge you're in "flying mode" where you can use Shadow Uppercut and mash B to have free movement. --Gooey: Impossible. His Dark Matter Lightning jump replacement does not get high enough to get through a few areas. Holding up is key for getting through doors though. --Adeleine & Ribbon: Possible. Fairy Dance and Kracko do everything you could want. --Dark Meta Knight: Possible. It's hard, but using Bluster Sword and his uppercut gets good height, but requires some space and set up. (Note: I don't mean Dark Calibur. I mean the same attack that Sword Kirby has.) --Daroach: Impossible. If you can air dodge, you're set. But there is no reliable way to get this to happen. --Magolor: Possible. Press and hold B. Then you have free movement. Easiest of them all. --Taranza: Possible. Use his Down Attack to float around. Easy, but time consuming. --Susie: Possible. The first section is hard. You have to rely on her Jet Attack to land on platforms. However, once you get Bluster, just hop into the mech and hold B. --Mage Sisters: Possible. Between Flamberge's jump and Zan's Up B, this is easy as frick. Not to mention Zan's ability to just air dodge to victory.

my interpretation is don't press a on land. and if you're in the air, press a only if you have a special a in midair move. (like Wing's Hover Flap or Beetle's Hover Wing). pressing a underwater is fine.

I'd have to replay it to check, but that might be a tough nut to crack. If memory serves, a lot of Copy Abilities that have useful jump replacements in the games covered so far didn't have them in Kirby Super Star/Ultra. For example, Sword didn't have the Upwards Slash.
