I don't think it would've had anything to do with the combat changes; Minecraft is easier to beat in 1.8 than later versions (dragon was buffed in 1.9). EDIT: Seeds change between versions as well.

@@isaac_white i know, but it still is a well known change (and definitely didnt help the cause). that being said it is technically 100% doable in any post-villager (or whenever that trade for eyes was added) because the only things you cant do raw off of mob drops are ender eyes. picks, swords, and bows (and arrows) are all obtainable via mob drops. i think there even might be beds in one of the new structures, not sure though, never found one. so you have the premier dragon weapon at your disposal too, supposedly.

Too many parts of the game require spinning. Take Bowzer for example: the first 2 fights require 7 spins apiece and the third takes 15. I think beating Galaxy 1 without jumps, however, might be possible. When you hover the pointer of the P2 remote over Mario and press A, it bounces him slightly into the air. With spins and wall kicks you could get a decent amount of aerial mobility.

@@haronka I meant Good Egg 2 would be a major obstacle for no sling star. I found something when I was testing jumpless: a P2 input on the player while in midair will cause you to spin. It can break crystals, get extra height and active launch stars. Its only weakness is I couldn't get it to hit anything small and on the ground.

So the strategy is to search for villagers that trade renewable items for eye of enders, then search the dungeons, mineshafts, and villages for armor and gear, and get bows and arrows, as well as swords, finally don't forget to bring food.

Crafting at all counts as crafting. It is almost impossible to get Ender Eyes without crafting, due to how rare villages are. Likewise, Snowballs are a priority to get, as you can damage the Dragon with them, which is just about the only damage you can do. And then there is always that near impossible seed with all twelve Portal spots, completely negating the prerequisite of eyes of ender.
