(Usually Hapless) your a star and dare I say I reckon you would give some staff officer or freshly commissioned Lieutenant a serious fright in any kind of simulation! (Actually as a side note that would be great to see - Usually versus someone from Sandhurst) Apologies by the way if you are/were actually in the military and highly schooled (as it certainly seems) in all manner of combined arms operations. In the actual battle, the panzers broke through onto a narrow track almost to the beach and were barely stopped by daisy chain mines quickly deployed by 45th ID engineers. Very narrow defensive victory indeed. Thanks for a great presentation.

I'm currently playing through the "Panzers Marsch!-Campaign in Battle for Normandy and face similiar challenges like you. Attacking in difficult terrain ( gotta love fighting in tight Norman Villages), a tight time schedule and no overwhelming advantage in numbers to overcome these difficulties. Luckily the superiority of the Panther and the concealment offered by the bocage balances things out :D So it's really interesting for me to see how you tackle these missions. Keep up the great work :)

Don't know that hull down positions do much for your Mk IV's given the weaker turret armor. Then again, it is a smaller target. I'm always debating with myself whether it's worth it to find HD for the IV's. Good video as always, Hapless.. thanks for posting!

The 37mm is the great surprise of the WW2 CMx games. I've taken PZIVs with it, even the up-armoured ones. You won't get anything through the front armor, but the turret sides and hull sides are fair game. It's not great once it gets past the armor, though. Really needs to hit something explodey.

The designers must stack the odds a bit by giving the AI more equipment to compensate for it's ineptitude. No intelligent human would expose those M10's like the AI always does. It's unfortunate that in 2022 with supposed supercomputing AI that is poised to replace us that game developers can only just match the AI from 25 years ago...

I think they traded more realistic elements over a bad ai Because if you think about it the original cm trilogy had a better AI in some ways but the game doesn't simulate allot of things that the mordern cm games do.

there is no supercomputing AI that is poised to replace us. our best AI in 2021 is considered 'weak AI' and an increasing number of experts are saying strong AI (AI capable of competeing with human skill, weak AI can only replace humans in cost saving measures at reduced effciency) is not a realistic possibility.

Interesting video, Usually Hapless . I have a question, do you prefer to play turn-based or real-time Combat Mission? What type of action do U use in this video?

Turn based. It's much easier to make a video using turn based because you can save each turn and replay them at will. With realtime, you get one chance and you can't be everywhere at once.

Love your content! This is a bit off topic, but I was wondering whats in store for Combat Mission. I was hoping to see another jump in graphics and gameplay. Its hard to believe but this newer version of Combat Mission is now over 10 years old. The original game came out 20 years ago! I haven't checked the forum in about a year. I wonder what we can expect going forward.

Are you planning to do the Soviet campaign for Combat Mission Cold war? Specifically the ride of the 120th (march or die) version, I've only managed to get to the 3rd mission where my T-62 platoons got absolutely wiped out by Bradleys.
