Hope you are doing the Hastur disciples in yellow. These look great. I finished mine yesterday and the silver was the most time consuming, I did a 1:2 ratio blue was on it.

Cool, a blued steel look could add some nice shading or reflections. Hastur's Disciples I did copying the KS page art, so orange-ish yellow. Tho, putting a yellow over the same undercoat I used on these cultists I think would work fine.

Is it ok to use regular Nuln Oil instead of the Gloss version ?

Yes, it won't make a significant difference, I used the gloss because I had it.

Hi I'm new to the world of painting , I had to watch your video and it's really great , there's just one thing I didn't understand , having to spry primer the models , how can I do blending with two reds instead of underpainting ? Should I drybrush the two reds before contrast or after ?

Hmm, I'm a little unclear on the question. You need to prime the model so that other paints will stick to the model. If you don't use a primer, the paint with chip off. That said, you don't need to underpaint with your primer. You can prime in one color, then use normal acrylic paints and a brush to underpaint. And you could underpaint with dry brushing Also, instead of underpainting you could blend contrast paints like I do in other videos in this series (like the byakee). Hope that helps!

Awesome. Going with this for my cultists painting guide as imo the best looking results. Never used contrast paints but my blood angels red is in the post. I'm a bit worried about the dark undercoat though. The GW guide said only light undercoats for contrast paints. I'm planning on using Doomsbull brown, it seems to match your primer close enough. Think this will be ok?

Yeah any dark undercoat should do. Don't sweat it, the GW guide supposes you want a particular outcome, having a darker undercoat won't ruin anything. Worst comes to worst you can paint over the contrast and do it again (but I think it'll work out).

What PSI did you prime those? I noticed you got really close with priming. I also use Synlrez, but generally have to use 25-30 PSI or I have significant flow issues. Do you add anything to thin your Stynlrez?

I am usually at 20-25 range. I frequently have flow issues as well. I thin the stynlrez primer with a little flow-improver and water. But I think it is even more important that the airbrush gets a proper cleaning regularly. in the past I had not been using enough airbrush cleaner when I swapped colors with my airbrush. And I didn't deep clean it often enough. airbrush cleaning solution also acts as a lubricant on the needle to reduce paint drying on it. I only noticed recently that the bottle recommends you use 50/50 cleaning solution to water (inbetween colors). I had been using way to little cleaner (probably resulting in more frequent dry tip and paint build up). I can't say for certain why yours has flow issues but cleaning could be a good start.
