Good video. The problem with Navionics and garmin is the colors they add to areas where they don’t actually have data, that’s why it looks undefined and won’t be as accurate.

Great educational video! I agree. The private mapping collected with the multi beam sonar by CMOR Mapping is more clear and more accurate. The data collected by CMOR is processed in a way that offers better clarity and better accuracy. The other guys just fill in the gaps with color.

Thanks for a super helpful review. I'm a bit locked in due to my Garmins so my question is on Navionics area coverage. I fish out of the Fort Myers/Naples area and am looking for relief mapping 40+ miles out in the gulf. I'm concerned that Navionics may not have good bottom coverage for this particular area. Can you provide any insight? Thanks much.

@@Capitano_Davide pulley ridge is beyond my comfort zone. I do trailer to marathon though. For my area I think my best bet may be strikelines ? Thoughts?

@BadTunaFishingCompany the only chart strikelines has in your area is the hardbottom chart. Which isn't bad if you're looking for areas to fish. I have one in my area and it's good for finding new areas. It's not dead accurate like a 3d chart. For when you go down to the keys cmor has a killer chart down there. As far as running these cards on your boat. 1. If you have mercury engines and a newer mercury vesel view you can run the cmor on there. 2. You can buy a mappak unit which is a portable unit you can bring any where(I think simrad is better than the Raymarine packs) The company linked in the description sells both brands, so check them out, and they'll be able to get you taken care of it.

It has more coverage overall. But in some areas, cmor beats navionics in coverage now, especially around FL

There is, cmor is $700 vs navionics at $250ish. You can see this in the link in the description. Navionics will offer more coverage in most areas, but it's not as detailed and clear. However, cmor does have some data on their charts that is unique to them only because they scanned it themselves

@@mroffman86 Navionics is a garmin chart they're the exact the chart, just compatibility is different. Now the garmin charts are even called Garmin Navionics + This video was just to show a side by side comparison of cmor vs Navionics. The cmor is better for shaded relief, if you were looking for those charts you could either get a map pak that is compatible with cmor charts or wait until they release the app which will probably be a while.
