The thing is, I think, that folks in Chicago referred to tracks as "deep" even before DJ Sprinkles started producing house. That's why, ever so thoughtfully, Kelly over here starts by saying "Speaking from Chicago..." There's a Ron Trent interview where he says it clearly, tracks like Michael Watford's Holdin On were what they called "deep". Don't get me wrong - tracks by DJ Sprinkles to me are as deep as it gets. It's just that the term "house" comes from Chicago, and people have used it even before DJ Sprinkles rose to prominence. So... you know... a little humility ought help one expand his/her views of a genre he/she values.
