I don’t like this song - though it’s my first time hearing it. But what I DO like is the crossover that is happening in many different musical genres. I watch CMT a quite a bit because they do a pretty good job of putting a spotlight on those wider doors and blends of talent. A good example is the CMT series where they have a ‘country’ industry musician and a musician from a different genre come together to perform a concert of each other’s music, together … Crossroads is the series, I believe. I saw Marin Morris and Alicia Keyes playing a concert together that was just stunning … and there are dozens and dozens of these collaborations. I think the idea is a terrific one and the results are usually top notch and opens up the audiences of both artists to new ideas and new musicians. just because I don’t care for this particular song/performance does NOT mean I am not in full favor of trying new things and hearing new music from creative collaborations!

It's because this isn't country music and CMT keeps pushing music like this. It's one thing to make music like this but sitting there and claiming this is anything other than a pop song is a lie. Every song Nashville songwriter's push has no meaning and is just catchy tunes and phrases and that's not what country music is.
