I love hearing Hozier sing other people’s songs so we hear him use his voice differently. He’s perfection.

She’s such a badass to sing this song on a country station before she leaves country music for good, bc I think this song is about that. Such an icon, I love it dude!

yes to all the haters out there with no kindness for other people nor common sense, she has essentially said she's done with y'all & playing true country music to people who actually appreciate what true country is all about, which actually isn't about trucks, racism & homophobia

@zelbernil3790 find a quote from a country song that's racist and homophobic. And she's literally switching from a country label to a pop label, so yes she is leaving country music. Her star power was diminishing among fans of real country music so she bashed the entire community with baseless insults for attention.

I just looked up the lyrics, and then the purpose for the song, and I could NOT HAVE MORE RESPECT and admiration for the woman that Maren is. What a baller. And the song and her vocals are stunning. So glad that Hozier keeps introducing me to the best-hearted and talented people on the planet. Up Maren! Respect.

@Sarasstorytime22 Florida Georgia line broke up because liberal Tyler Hubbard couldn't get along with conservative Brian Kelley. The Tree is the toxic cesspool of the current country music scene. She's not actually quitting country music she's planting the seeds of country elsewhere for people whose ears & hearts are far kinder & more open to the true values of country music. Those who refuse to grow can stay & deal with the rot.
@sashastratton Жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! I mean, we can see a beautiful blend of country music with Brandi Carlile and so many others that back up what you're saying. I hate seeing people act like she's given up on country music as a whole while not really grasping what she is actually talking about, IMO. Like you brilliantly said "planting the seeds" and the rest in your comment said❤ that's how I've perceived her intentions. Bc she's not quitting but is doing like the quote "they thought they would bury us. They didn't know we were seeds" I'm going off the top of my head so I hope that came out right!

Its just sad to see "country music fans" say "after what said about county music" (insert some ignorant end like bye or not a fan). Bc i wzs raised on country music. Sung it too. Im 53 years old. Im gonna guess those "country music fans" dont grasp country music at all perhaps not being familiar with genre or have never listened to legends such as Willie Nelson or Johnny Cash! I hate seeing country music being hijacked by racism and othering by marginalizeing others. Not that thats a brand new thing necessarily, its just been here and there in the past, whereas the last 15 or so years has really become ridiculous and gross. Good on her and the COUNTLESS artists doing as she is and just planting seeds of hope and change. She ain't going nowhere, she's probably going to be about bringing positive change that got hijacked by the ignorant racist!
