just my opinion but the thing i hate the most ever since the hoyo genshin era of gacha games that are the kits of the character released are locked behind dupes while before that it's pretty stright forward like more stats or more dmg. i mean ngl this game really want you to v1 that, v3 this v6 that, feels abit overwhelming especially for a light spender.

@@jeremywinst the prequel to endfield, arknights, has characters full kits unlocked and not gated by dupes. Dupes only provide small stat boost that is only relevant if you’re clearing the most difficult content of the game, contingency contract and integrated strategies, which only gives bragging rights.

eh? c0 is fine in genshit though. Maybe to some 4* characters like c1 ben but genshit's end game content is not hard. I can clear abyss at c0 most of my characters. I can't tell here in gf2 yet though

Better to specialize for buffs, synergy, and boss weaknesses. Jack of all trades comps r always worse once u hv the ability to flex for every situation

To focus the element dmg, some doll can implant element weakness debuff

because stages are made to have 1 weakness so you go with a team that deals that type of damage

just imo and i know the game is great from story and gameplay wise so far, but it seem the units balancing is kinda ass right? Some unit is way overpower in every team and others perform underwhelming even in their own team, and all of them are limited. If i roll for a new limited character, i would want it to perform at least somewhat at meta lvl in about half a year, then they can powercreep them. I don't think it is a good practice since ppl will avoid playing great designed character just because they afraid they will have a hard time to get the job done. Maybe flop one or twice with some units because of the lack of team comp, but there is almost half a dozen of the units above is underperform although they are all limited.

To me seems like meta gaming with how current game discourse is. Like fire emblem heroes has a terribly strong meta. However you can specialize in literally just 1 character and their alts and make do in the hardest pve content. Pvp is a nightmare of course as it is in gachas. Idk what guilds are in this game but unless the game keeps most of the resource dumps for top tier meta slaves in competitive content, everyone should be fine just using faves. Like Suomi is busted and that is why she's so highlighted. rest of the cast isn't bad shes just broken. But of course nature of modern discorse will slam you for doing your own thing as playing the game wrong. They also seem to be having updates to older units with the anni? In CN so nothing is really hopeless for your units long term. Although the means they are doing it now gives concern for how feh has it with refines. (Refines get crept but units only every get 1 refine meaning the oldest units aren't helped by it at all anymore. However gfl2 will likely keep a smaller cast so it shouldn't be as big of a deal till later on in its life. But by then likely new upgrade sources will come to have them still keep up.)

The age old question of Wifeu vs Meta. While I generally agree it does not feel nice that a limited doll is just meh in the current "meta", but do keep in mind meta always shifts. Just because a unit is underwhelming on release, does not mean it will stay like that forever. A new unit that comes later can make it suddenly "THE" meta BIS pick. But also, GFL2 is not that hard that you need meta for everythhing or bust. Yes, meta makes things easier but thats whale bait + cpt. Obvious moment: its a gacha game. They need people spending on the limited units. Not everythinngg can be equaly good all the time or there would be no reason to intoduce new units.

@@sorakey4005 this is a waifu collection game. Most will pick 1 or more waifus and gonna let them destroy the enemy. Team comp might be good for hard challenges and pvp, but most of the time it's the same 4-6 characters.

im aiming for mono ice team with lotta and try to get her dupes to 3. i have a question. will there be stages that punishes me not bringing the right elements? and how difficult the stages will be? if i vertically invest in one team...can it clear even the harder content that require specific elements? and im guessing there are stages that require multiple teams?

Her skills are meh and she relies on other aoe units hitting a lot which suffers when aoe units don't have much overlap on enemies. Its sorta like with mosien who need high stability damage to follow up at all, which is how her gauge builds to land her ult and with later merges start doing chunks. I also want to work with nagant but she also suffers needing high stability damage, and defense debuffs already applied (hers are 1 turn) and then enemies to advance on the team for her follow ups.

@@0kaiKai That's what I'm saying. She's great against multiple targets but against bosses, not so much. Likewise in PvP she's not bad, her and littara both, even in late game. Especially if you use it as more of a support and/or flanking character as opposed to DPS.
