Growing up as a kid in the '80s... Those were the BEST years of my life! The Food, The Music, The Movies, The Sports... Everything was MAGICAL!

Singapore is the best place to be in SEA during the 80s & 90s. After 2010 started going downhill, SG no longer feel like true SG. Still best place for young people to study & work.

I had the opportunity to work and live in Singapore during the start of this millennium 2001 to 2009. I had this idea of a humble beginning of Singapore but just in 30yrs time it has transformed it self into one of the most developed city state. There are still glimpses of the past all over the city . Though a tiny islands but a life time may not be sufficient to satisfy our craving for life. LOVE TO SINGAPORE FROM VIZAG (INDIA )❤

Really enjoying this series on Singapore. Went from not being wanted in Malaysia to its own crown jewel city state. Very inspiring, and can’t wait to visit.

I was in Primary School back in the 80s. Miss those times. Remember Cuppage? Lots of gang riots. Also remember going to the MRT roadshow at the old World Trade Centre. Visitors got to choose the layout of the seats; whether it'd be like the bus-style or facing one another.

I was born in 1974 and live in selegie houses. I was hopping to see my face on this video because I was there most of time and remember how I used to walk from short street to orchard, Bugis and Marina lol. Now asking me to walk like this is mission impossible! Lol

@wear ur mask wash ur hands and social distance Thank you for mentioning this! I was looking to see if anyone else noticed this as well..I’m 30 minutes into the documentary and noticed this overwhelming focus on Chinese culture which was making me really uncomfortable- From Haw Par Villa to Chinese Kampungs to Chinese music and Chinese plays. I’m a Chinese Singaporean myself, but I would have appreciated seeing the diversity of our country’s culture. Nonetheless, thank you for a good video CNA Insider.

@COPE d'etat Yeah I thought Singapore was a sub chinese territory in the 80's based on this video. With more promo for Chinese artists, musicians and culture. Only when Fandi showed up it made sense that was back to it's roots of diversity again. Did Indians in Singapore achieve much in the 80s? I am curious though.
