Dr Mitu Khurana, a paediatrician in Delhi, fought to keep her twin daughters as her in-laws tried to prevent them from being born and later, from growing up.

In the midst of this situation, some individuals are fighting to save India’s “missing” daughters. The Insight team speaks to Rajan Choudhary, founder of SRKPS NGO, who has worked with government and police to conduct sting operations to shut down illegal abortion clinics; and Devendra Agarwal, who has set up baby baskets all over the state to save female infants who would've otherwise ended up in dumps and drains.
