For me one of the BIGGEST factors in being stuck in poverty is having too many children than they can feed and send to school. But unfortunately based on CNA's track record of uploads, it is NEVER the parents fault when children aren't able to eat properly. Personal responsibility, adults thinking about only having children when they know they can provide them the education they need to succeed in the future. I guess for CNA common sense isn't something they like to talk about...let's say a family instead of having 5-8 children just had 1 or 2. Not changing the parent's current earnings, wouldn't those 1-2 children be better fed than if there where 5-8. How about savings? If the parent's only needed to feed 1-2 instead of 5-8 wouldn't they be able to afford a pen or a notebook or maybe even send their kid off to get educated in a school. I am NOT saying having fewer kids guarantees the 1-2 kids automatically GET an education because that is not the case. BUT wouldn't having fewer mouths to feed be easier on the family budget? Wouldn't having fewer kids (again given the exact earnings the parents are getting) increase the chances of those fewer kids having an education and by having the education get more options to make their own future. And in turn those educated kids CAN help their parents out of their situation.

It’s indeed a heart-wrecking documentary that vividly depicts how the pandemic has affected the lives of those unfortunate people who are already living far below the poverty line. The statistics given are staggering. The story-line brings tears. Picturization and editing deserve a special word of commendation. May this documentary arrest the attention of the international community and bring some welfare fund and aid to this ailing country. May God save them. Well done CNA.

In December 1971 I was onboard a vessel that probably was the last one to leave Chittagong during the India - Pakistan war. Few weeks after we left the war was over and the nation, Bangladesh was born. We went to Singapore, a nation then into it's sixth year as an independent nation to wait until the war was over. Look at the two nations to day. Singapore being one of the worlds richest and most advanced nations, while Bangladesh, have they improved since independence? From what I can see and read for news media and others, I am not sure. Can corruption be the main reason for the difference? With Singapore being one of the worlds cleanest nations while Bangladesh is close to the bottom of the list?

I mean, shouldn't you consider or at least care a little about bringing a life into this world? Or was it you are able to provide food, shelter, education, and a future for all your family members when you where just SEVEN? What logical reason is there to have a bigger family if you cannot take care of a smaller one. Shouldn't it be easier to take care of say a family of 4 or 5 compared to a family of 8? There is a historical reason to it, bangladesh being a third world country its still lives on agricultural sector, which means a father needs more sons to help him doing the field work, plus he cannot afford to have any farming instrument. The society is such where the children live with their parents and its a common notion that you will take care of your children and, when they grow up, they will take care of you!A girl child is thought to be a burden to be married off some day! So they keep on reproducing till they get a male child increasing the population even further. Slowly i guess they are realising this and the population is going down.

The poor people featured in this video were poor before the pandemic struck and is a familiar story across BD. I guess poorism journalism works. Fyi...poorism is how is how media concentrates and shows the worst parts of a country to suit their narrative...may that be to get more clicks or push their agenda. I suggest just helping out those near you in your city or neighborhood. Either personally or better, working with local NGOs. If you don't want the hassle, talk to any religous congregations near you...church, temple, etc. They will freely accept and donations on your behalf.

To be honest this aid only went to the local leaders not to the poor people. Most of the needy people didnot get this aid. The more the stimulus package will be , the less the aid will be received by the poor . This is the rule of 3rd world countries.

Why do these people keep having children when they don’t have a decent job in the first place. You have children that you can eat & be comfortable with. You don’t have one after the other then wonder how your going to feed them. Most are poor to start with then a pandemic comes along and they can’t eat. Think ahead have children when you have money to feed them.
