When he took over as the 10th Prime Minister, the country was at its lowest... Now, he has remarkably turns Malaysia as one of Asian economic tiger. Soon it will turn as a dragon. Insya Allah. The Ringgit meanwhile is performing so good that at one point it is the best performance currency in the world. And it is still doing good.. Many IT giants has invested and will invest in the country especially in microchips, softwares, data centres, clouds, AI etc. So far this PMX is doing a great job despite so many critics. He has silenced most of the haters and critics.

Malaysia is growing well under Anwar Ibrahim. Big companies are investing more. He works hard but doesn’t take a salary as PM. His government focuses on good policies, AI and helping the people (such as Bantuan Sara Hidup). This makes the economy better for everyone.

Msia now uses excessive cheap foreign labor in the market, and these workers have taken most of the public sector jobs from the locals deviated from 3D sectors initially planned. The whole country is full of cheap foreign labor, and some have upgraded themselves in doing illegal businesses, an extent of the negative consequences of this overreliance. The influx of foreign workers has increased by day..

The idea is to short-cut the process. School leavers enter the job market, start internship in tech and engineering companies and are trained while on the job. The knowledge they acquire is relevant to the particular industry.

Actually not impossible. I presume 50% will come from existing local talent in the country. 25% from Malaysians abroad, so, Steven Sim must work hard. The other 25% can come from our neighbors from ASEAN.

I think the idea of 60k engineer was also that the vision of the country is to be more hopeful and shows that hey the country is in need of proper engineers coming from the young gen into their working adult years, so don’t be afraid of educating yourself further and becoming an engineer to push the country forward. Ofc this might sound good on paper (60k engineers), we have to also consider the fact that early on, higher supplies of engineers could lower the demands and subsequently also a much lower salary pays for entry grads of engineers.

@@SFCFiz Well. the thesis here is that in order to fulfil the demand need of the upcoming technological revolution in Malaysia, spurred on by the massive incoming FDIs, there is a need for 60k engineers over the next 5 years. On the contrary, if there's ample pressing demand for engineers, salaries should be very competitive, not subdued.

So true. You can clearly see his foresight, work ethics and understanding of both the domestic and global economic realities. His targeted subsidies strategy and efforts to increase the rakyat's income levels shows that he has keen insights to the root cause of the rakyat's economic sufferings. The problem is that past leaders were oblivious to the fact that the rakyat's income level has not kept pace even with the relatively traditionally low inflation levels in Malaysia.
