I've been to Japan and Thailand I have to say they are quite similar in politeness and shyness. You can sense the people are nice and friendly and also polite and respectful at the same time. I'd say the Japanese are 1st in politeness and Thai 2nd.

Thailand’s air pollution is a huge red flag for any visitor right now, especially if you’re heading to a major city like Bangkok. The air quality is so bad that it’s classified as dangerous on a regular basis, with PM2.5 levels often sky-high.

Iconsiam… also known as my local shopping mall. Mainly because it’s literally the closest shopping mall by distance from my house! It’s amazing but can get super crowded and on occasion it runs out of parking space. Annoying (and people in Thailand don’t really take public transport which is a big shame) Lovely views and I took a friend here once and he was so amazed by it.

I live in an older condo in Pattaya Thailand (a 5-minute scooter ride to the beach). It is all concrete, so the rooms are quiet (I have a video of the condo). I am on the ninth floor, so the sunsets are great, and I do not have much trouble with mosquitoes or road noise. We have a large pool with a slide. There is a restaurant by the pool; most meals are 3-7 dollars. My rent is $207/month. I have a new wall unit A/C, that I run 24/7 and my electric bill is $30/month. My room is 270 square feet or 30 square meters. It has plenty of room for a single guy. I have no plans to move back to the States.

Been to Thailand. Definitely don't go to Siam Hotel. Such a tourist trap ripoff. Unless you plan to spend your entire trip in the hotel, you can find plenty of other great 5 star options for less than $100 a night. I went to Thailand to explore, not to sit in a fancy hotel with a courtyard or a gym with a boxing ring. One of the places I visited was Novotel Siam Square. Its a 4 star and nothing super fancy, but it was a nice room. Right next to BTS station, Centralworld, Siam Paragon, and right on Siam Square where there's a lot of great food and shopping to do.

You should seriously think twice before visiting Thailand, especially given the country’s ongoing issues with child sex trafficking. Despite efforts to combat this horrific crime, many vulnerable children are still being exploited, often coerced into prostitution or misled by traffickers. The nightlife scene can further perpetuate these issues, glamorizing exploitation and blurring the lines between consensual activities and illegal practices.

While we recognize that human trafficking is a serious global concern, it’s important to note that Thailand has taken substantial steps to address these issues. In recent years, the Thai government has intensified its efforts, with a 2023 report noting a 20% increase in trafficking-related arrests and over 1,500 victims rescued last year alone. The government has also partnered with international organizations to strengthen protections, enforce stricter laws, and increase awareness within communities. Thailand is committed to creating a safer environment for both its citizens and visitors. While the government continues to address these challenges, millions of tourists visit Thailand each year and experience its rich culture and hospitality safely. Negative stereotypes often overlook Thailand’s proactive efforts to combat this issue and the support it has garnered from global partners.
