Ivana comes from Czech republic which was part of Austrian/ German monarchy with a lot of castles full of antic furniture, crystal chandeleuers, marble floors, and she probably wanted something similar at her home.
@serebii666 Жыл бұрын
That doesn't matter. Czechia indeed, like Austria and Bavaria is rich in the South German tradition of design. But that means restraint and geometric design not rocaille insanity. From Modernism and Functionalism in the 1920s to 1980s, to Secession Art Nouveau in the 1890s-1910s, to Neo-Renaissance from the 1860s-1890s to Biedermeier in the 1820s-1840s. The interior here is incredibly over the top, especially to Czechs, like it is trying to cram the entire National Theatre and State Opera into a walkup. Even in the 1980s and 1990s this would be considered gaudy, oppressive and ugly. Ivana's taste was simply incredibly Nouveau riche and paired well with her Husbands. But this is in no way considered classy by anyone, except maybe the Russian oligarch mafioso types. The fact that she had the place wall to wall carpeted instead of using parquet, just makes this house look like a Vegas Hotel that's trying too had. Considering the sets of the Nanny are from the same era, this house just screams poor taste.

Our children’s children will rebel against the institutionalized depressing architecture of 2020+ and millionaires homes will look cozy, detailed, and elegant again with varying real materials and interesting architecture. Modern minds think elegant is big empty gray rooms with metal staircases, and shiny industrial kitchen appliances that I see as gaudy and cold and someday will be mocked as the prison years as we are already stating to bring color and woods back. The reason people think the real deal looks cheap is because in 1999 imitations of the style were made to create what was coined McMansions or big homes of the upper middle class that tried to look like this, but it wasn’t real gold, real silk, real crystal, or even real wood. These big homes were purchased due to Clinton area laws that let people who shouldn’t qualify for loans get loans then during the Obama era one and seven people lost their homes because they never should’ve gotten those loans they couldn’t afford. Probably no one’s gonna hit like to this, but it’s my opinion based on the truth, so at least appreciate that even if you don’t agree.

Hey, obviously it was everything she wanted so good for her , she got to live that way, it’s obviously going to have a certain type of appeal to only a certain group of people, because it’s definitely a love it, or hate it place. I’m not rich or privileged & have never experienced high-end luxury but I know what I don’t like - the entire interior of this townhouse. Only the front doors were tasteful to me. The moment the hosts went inside, it just felt like a brothel. But then again they did mention this townhouse wanted to emulate “Parisienne” vibes & it does feel very Moulin Rouge to me.

the stairway did not lead to her demise, he filthy ex husband had her killed and that is what led to her demise. no way she died falling down those carpeted stairs. people fall down steps all the time and none of them die, unless the steps are concrete and it happens outdoors. that is possible. but not those stairs what a lie.

yes, I agree. While everything is beautiful ( a matter of ones own taste) it is very taste specific, which is fine it was her house. To me, most of it is very outdated, and that's fine also, everything cant be up to the minute...but this decor, is way beyond over the top, and a little on the grotesque side. Once her furniture goes and just the walls and floors are left, the new owner will have to remove the wallpaper, carpeting, and it becomes a full gut. I don't know how many people would think this this is "turn key". The one thing about these town homes is the lack of light in the inner rooms from windows. I don't like it, and wouldn't want to love there.
