rights to data is a legal definition. not something ordained. if such possession of data harms the public good, then such rights shouldn't exist. that's why there is a limit to copyright.

lol perplexity uses the same search engine result pages scrapping the websites and also it uses citation based references scrapping and feed to rag data ai model they use a open source model named as mistral of the content similar to the one google one does for ages with crawlers going to the robo.txt files blocks and website will show up in the search engine and the same thing will be applies to the generative engines as well if the business of model of google showing website is the same for the perplexity ai every website owner wants that and also they have raised so much funding as well as from the investors
