powell haters know nothing about economy, its not his job to solve poverty. its his job to keep prices stable (2% inflation) and maximal employment. that's it

@@brittle1 ask normal people working hard to keep up with their bills what they think of inflation. Powell certainly hasn’t. American families deserve better. Hopefully this will be a November to remember.

Has he taken responsibility for being the one to increase the money supply WHICH CAUSED THIS PROBLEM?

Powell miraculously saved the day just in time for the November election. What were the chances he would admit he lost the battle ? Coincidence ? Are we looking at accurate data ?

Yearly inflation 2% NOT = Prices Has Inflated 5% X 4years = 20% !!!? 💥💥💥
@itsme123669
@itsme123669 2 сағат бұрын
2% is an annual target and it's currently near that. The last 4 years are irrelevant to that discussion.

Also 5% annually over 4 years is not 20%.

Seems like Yellen is tacitly executing monetary policy via treasury auctions, while the fiscal situation is dire, debt/gdp is > 125%. The Fed is typically the focus of attention regarding the economy, but I feel like we are merely distracted by the fed lately.
@osliver5653

Think slightly confused. Yellen is purely fiscal policy through treasury auctions. Also how are we distracted by the fed?
